I just want to make sure my thinking is right because I tend to over analyze things. If I wanted to start this DIY stuff and make the 50/50 mixture, should I get:
100% VG base
100% PG base
PG nicotine Liquid

I'm assuming since most flavors are based with PG it would make it easier to calculate using PG flavoring and PG nicotine to reach the 50% mixture and then add in the 50% VG?

Like I said, I could be completely over analyzing the complexity of this. :)

That would be the best way IMO. What do you plan on using your nic levels and flavor % as? That could be a determining factor in if you choose 100% PG Flavor-It-Yourself, or 100% VG.

I typically vape 12-16mg depending on the flavor or who I order from. I suppose I'd start with 10-15% flavor and go from there.

For a 10ml sample recipe at 12mg target with 50/50 target

using 100% PG 36mg nic juice you would use:
3.33 ml of nic
.17 ml of PG (personally I would skip this small of an amount as its so small)
5 ml of VG
1.5 ml of flavoring (15%)

using 100% PG 48mg nic juice you would use:
2.5 ml of nic
1 ml of PG
5 ml of VG
1.5 ml of flavoring (15%)

Hope that helps :)

Sure does help, thank you! :) I got to thinking that it would confuse me if I tried using 100% VG 36 or 48mg nic juice. :)

Thanks for all of the information! :) Just one more question and then I think I'm good to go. With the Master Kit it says you can "Mix and match Eight - LorAnn Super Strength Flavorings or 6ml Flavor Apprentice Professional Flavors". Am I correct in my understanding that's it's 8 LorAnn 3.7ml bottles -or- 8 Flavor Apprentice 6ml bottles? Seems it would be better to go with FA for more quantity.

If your looking to go with 0mg, your best bet is it purchase the items seperately as the nic juice is a great part of what drives the kit pricing.

I can send along our mixing brochure with your order, just put a note in the comment section and we will also include some items to get ya started :)

If you would like, give me a call and we can discuss what you might need :) or not need as the case may be! :)

I think I need just about everything from the kit. This is my first DIY adventure so I have no supplies at home. I have a few things like gloves already because I have a hair stylist living here. hehe I definitely need the flavors, pipettes, various bottle sizes, funnel, syringe w blunt tip, measuring cup and tweezers. I already have some VG so I just need PG. I'm going to do 0mg for now I think because I want to steer away from nicotine. I like the flavors and vapor the most, so the nicotine was just a minor perk. :)

I got 15 flavor apprentice with my order and all of the various
Juices I've attempted to make are tasting horrible. They either taste muted or taste nothing like they're supposed to. Should I have ordered
some kind of sweetener with kit or am I doing something wrong?

I also thought the cinnamon would be more of a baking cinnamon instead of a cinnamon oil. The pumpkin spice also doesn't seem like a real pumpkin pie scent to make a juice. What would you recommend I get instead of these two flavors since I can't use them?

Hey stevenejb,

What percentages of these flavors are you using in your mixes? If you wouldn't mind posting your entire recipe so that we can take a look. A lot of flavors tend to taste bad when they are used in too high of a percentage in your mixtures. Is your final mixture looking to be a pumpkin pie flavored e-juice?

Sweetener will certainly help the less/un-sweetened flavors. A lot of flavors are sweet enough on their own, but others may require some added sweetener to suit your taste. Regarding the cinnamon, they are all mostly cinnamon "oil" type flavorings. You may like the LorAnn Cinnamon Roll flavoring more than the TFA Cinnamon line. It's the less potent of the cinnamon flavorings.

One thing to note on the TFA cinnamon's, use this very sparingly, you don't need much at all. That stuff is going to dominate your mixtures with very little added. It also tends to linger in atomizers for what seems like an eternity. You're going to want an atty dedicated to cinnamon mixtures so that it doesn't carry over into your other mixtures you may be working with.
