So I'm upgrading my VTR and I was going to get the dna30 but figured why not get a 50w device in case I wanna do more later on, without having to upgrade.

So I have had my eyes on the ipv2 but seems like I have read about some problems and I can't find a black one in stock anywhere, from a trusted dealer. So the point of the thread is to ask if I should go with the ipv2 or look at some other 50w devices. Any other devices worth comparing that are 50w?

You are a bit mistaken Necrotic...

Anyone can make their own 50w device using an OKR - T10 chip. I made my own that can easily achieve 50w and above. Nice thing about the chip is that since it requires dual batteries in series, your battery life is rather amazing.

Look up the Hex Ohm or The Duke. Use the same chip I'm talking about

problem with those SX350s that were posted (and the ipv2) is that it runs off a single 18650. Sure, if you're vaping 15-20 watts, that's not a huge deal. If you're maxing the potential of the device, your battery life will suffer

I mentioned that you CAN make them. There are quite a few people that make and sell 50W box mods using a number of chips. They are out there

The OKR-T10 chip is for voltage. Also cannot handle more than a 10 amp draw

I get about 8 hours of chain vaping at 50 watts on a 1.4 Ohm dual coil build with VTC4s on my IPV2.

is there anything that goes higher than 50wattage? I think my mech isn't strong enough to push my patriot RDA, I hear there are mods that do 120wattage but I cant seem to find any. Would like something that will make clouds thick enough to cover an entire shopping isle! LOL

I believe the Naos Raptor is about the highest... aside from the Variant by Vicious Ant (ruling that out because its about $500).

thats not entirely true. while the chip is rated for 10 amp, it actually maxes at 19 amps per the data sheet. i personally wouldn't run mine at that limit but a ton of people consistently run theres at .5 ohms at 6 volts for a total of 72 watts

seigle is coming out with a 100 watt box, based on the dna30 board. Vapordna had a short sale on an ironwood box mod, 78 watts or something. What level are you vaping at.? Heck, there's that 200 watt, 42 amp dual 26650 box mod out too.

Thing is, with most of the high amp box mods, need to be sub ohm to get the most out of them, otherwise your better off with a 30, till you always have it power locked at 30. Then upgrade. Lots of stuff coming out right now. Have the supermax personally. Great sub ohm 16 amp capable box mod.

But yeah, dna30 didn't remain super special for very long. But still is a great intermediate to advanced mod to have. Even good for beginners, that don't push it to fast.
