Ive been hearing stories of people messing up the threads on their VAMO's and one possible solution to this is using an adapter. I ordered a 510-eGo adapter from MBV did I order the wrong one? Do I need a 510-510 adapter?

This is what I ordered:
Adapter - 510 to Ego - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

If someone could clarify what I need it would be appreciated and maybe a link to where I could purchase it.
fasttech doesnt seem to have 510-510 but I need it quick as my VAMO is already in the mail.

Thanks guys!

You're fine. That adapter will work with either eGo threaded stuff or 510 stuff. (Although it might look a little ugly with the eGo threads showing when used with basic 510 stuff.) If you use any Kanger type clearos with eGo threading (T3s, MT3s etc.) those need an eGo adapter period. Those tanks don't actually have any inner 510 threads. If you tried to screw a T3s clearo onto a 510 to 510 adapter... it can't.

This is a very worrisome issue with the device, maybe if I would of known this I would have chosen something else but I love the way the V3 looks :(

New question: Whats the best way to take care of my new VAMO V3 coming in this week? Should I use the 510-eGo adapter or not? Any other suggestions? I want to use my protank v2 but I also have some evods and ce4 clearos. Should I use one over the other?

The bottom line with any PV is avoid overzealous screwing. Devices do not need to be ratcheted on. If you can't get your device off your PV in a one handed operation you are screwing it on too tight. The VAMO seems to have a lot of "issues" with it's connector but you can push the center post down too far on anything using brute force to screw things on.

So bottom line dont screw my atomizer on too tight? Ive heard people say to use the 510-eGo adapter and some say it will push the center post down to far ruining it. Should I use the adapter or not? Im pretty good at not screwing my tanks on too tight as it was the first thing I learned about in a B&M so Im pretty paranoid about it, even with my eGo-C Twist.

If you are mindful about not screwing things on too tight I wouldn't bother with the adapter. I read about these issues before I bought my V3 and always only tighten my attys enough so they won't wobble or loosen easily and I haven't had any problems.

That's not to say that I will never have the problem, but fixing it doesn't seem to be too difficult and the VAMO wasn't so expensive that I will lose sleep if it breaks.

We have two Vamo V2's and have 510 to ego adapters like yours permanently screwed into both, tightly. As you say, it makes for easy swapping between Protank and evod. It does look a bit ugly with the Protank cos the ego threads are visible tho, as another said earlier. Beware if you don't screw the adapter tightly into to the Vamo, it can become stuck screwed into the bottom of your atty. If this happens try wrapping a rubber band round it to assist your grip on it to unscrew.

I have had thread problems with my V2. I have been VERY easy screwing down the tanks I use but now I have stripped threads. Bummer!
I have noticed that my Protank mini clone I bought from FT still threads very well still. I am at a loss on why some tanks work and some don't. I REALLY like my Vamo , I just wished it was better made. I am going to try and buy a short 510 to 510 adapter next month (this months budget is shot) and see if I can fix my Vamo. It is only 2 weeks old and I have to fix it. Very disappointed.
A QUESTION: is it possible to buy a replacement head for the Vamo ? I might be interested if it doesn't cost too much.
ALSO: does anyone know a GOOD fix for my problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !! nilo52

Replacement head? No.

Your vamo has ego threads so buy something like a protank mini and you can start using your vamo again.

As for the OP, an airflow controller would be a way better thread protector than an adapter.

What does the airflow controller do to protect the threads? The 510-ego adapter screws in and it stays there. All your tanks screw into the adapter and the real threads never get abused. I see a lot of people talk of this air controller but I dont know how it protects threads. I thought it was used when your threads are already stripped and yuou need to stabalize a tank.

I think it pretty much works the same way, you attach the airflow controller than screw your atty into the controller. I guess the benefit is that you can adjust your airflow as well as protect your threads since you will always be attaching and detaching your atty's from that instead of the mod's native 510 connection, just like you are going with the 510-ego adapter.

I dropped my vamo with a protank 2 on it the day I got it. Moment of silence please...
Needless to say I totally messed up the threads. I bought it because of it's size (supposedly it would be easier for me to hold on to than the skinny ego twist. um...) So I agonized over it for about a week. Using the adapter is a quick fix but, this disaster lead me to something I wouldn't have found otherwise. I was set on using the protank 2. Probably from brainwashing myself watching too many youtube reviews. Don't get me wrong, its a great device. I'm in no way knocking it. I just had my mind set on it before I had even tried it. First of all, I had to change the drip tip immediately. I couldn't stand the stainless. It may just have been my imagination but I swear everything tasted like metal no matter what I did. It produced amazing vapor, I just didn't love it. This little accident lead me to the Evod BCC. Now, I'm in love. I love my vamo and dont really care about the 510 threads anymore. I hadn't considered the Evod at all until I was looking for something decent with the ego threading. Honestly, for me, its a much more satisfying vape than I got from the protank.
Still, I wish it was a little tougher. I dropped it from my wheelchair so it's not like it fell 6 feet and, it landed on carpet. Rather a delicate flower for all its bulky "lead pipe" appearance. If they ever do come up with a way to replace the head, I'd do it. Only because youtube keeps taunting me with the next great thing! :)

I have a VAMO (and an SVD soon) and a Protank2. The wobble bugs me and of course the reports of stripped threads. But I don't see how the 510 to 510 adapter will help with wobble since it will extend the length between unit and tank. Same for 510 to eGo. Seems it would be more stable if I use the eGo beauty ring that came with the PT on the 510 to eGo adapter it would become much more solid. Will it fit? Am I missing something? Would using the ring make it too far for contact?
