I seem to be eating up liquid like crazy lately, like I fill up a cartridge and it's empty fifteen mins later. I'm not sure if its cuz my batteries are dying but they aren't lasting as long anymore and it happens with all three of my attys.
I want to upgrade to a new battery anyway. I've read that the ego batteries work well in the 510. Are the Ego and the Tornado the same thing? Do you use cartridges with the ego? I drive around all day so i cant be dripping all the time and I don't think I understand exactly how tanks opperate.
Lastly, does the battery you use with a 510 effect the vapor production or is that strictly an atty thing?

The 510 is a model; it's also a threading type. The ego uses a "510 type" threading, so atomizers and cartomizers are compatible. Anything for a 510 can be used on an ego. I believe the Tornado is just a re-branded ego.

edit: The Tornado is a rebranded 510. For their rebranded ego, it's the "Inferno".

I haven't tried the new ego-t "tank" system, but I've read some about it... seems to have a special atty and a tank-type cartridge that holds the juice... no filler needed, so no waste or effect on taste. I highly suggest cartomizers while driving.

The ego battery is a higher mah, so even though it's nominally the same voltage as a 510, it seems (to me) to produce better vapor. The atty you choose can affect vapor production, as well as the juice (higher VG produces more vapor at the expense of throat hit). The battery is a major component, though. If you're not ready to dive into mods or switch to a stock 3.7v system, stepping up to an ego is the next best thing to bumping your voltage. Go for it! (I did, and I loved the ego for quite some time).

A word on compatibility: The 510 charger will charge an ego, albeit slowly and you'll need a special adapter. The ego charger, however, can damage a 510 (and even cause it to burn or explode)... it pushes too much amperage for the little 510 battery to take, kind of like trying to fill a thimble with a firehose. Even though the threads will fit, do NOT put a 510 battery on an ego charger!

Hiram answered most of your questions. I just wanted to add a few little things he did not address. There are two different sizes of the 510 battery. There is a short one that comes standard with the kit and a longer lasting one that is about an inch longer but both are the same width. Ego's are great and last a long time, they are just fat. If you like the size of your 510 you may just want to pick up the longer lasting battery.

Also the manual batteries (with the button) have a better performance (last longer) then the automatic batteries (no button).

Your atty's may be dying quickly because you are not priming them. Not many dealers send instrux about priming the Joye 510. If properly primed it should be lasting you 2 to 3 months. If you need instrux on priming let me know and I will walk you through it. You only prime when you are using a new atty.

Hope this helps!

Ego is more than just a battery.
a. you want to use an Ego charger with them (only) to charge them in a reasonable amount of time
b. an Ego kit comes with a tapered cowl that I believe helps it vape stronger
c. the Ego batteries have enough charge to allow use of LR (low resistance) attys etc

And try cartomizers instead of atty+carts - the fill lasts longer and they vape better I think

BTW - not sure but if you get an Ego and want to use cartos you may need a 510 extender to replace the space the atty took so the carto is high enough above the cowl (Madvapes sells an extender in the Adapters section)

These are supposed to be good for standard 510

I also drive all day and can't be bothered with refilling constantly. I have a Riva 510 as well as the eGo (same thing).
I use the caromizers in them and they last all day without having to refill constantly. I either carry extra full cartomizers or top them off if I need to which is easily done when you make a stop. 2 full cartomizers and my Riva or Ego last the entire day with no problem.

Keep a carto wet, and they can last quite a while. I get 5-10 days of solid use out of them (that's one flavor, one carto, for the whole time). Replacing the rubber stopper with a drip tip makes topping off really easy (if it's the soft-tip kind, not the hard Joye type).

Carto positives: Great vapor production, less leaking. If you get a bad one or fry the atomizing element, it's no biggie since they're relatively cheap. Holds a lot of juice. Seems to taste better.

Carto negatives: Virtually impossible to switch flavors. I keep standard attys around, for emergency backup and for sampling flavors before I use a carto.
