I just started the ecig journy about 17 days ago and it has gone great. I've done so much research and finally have had everything down. I even have got friends and family to try.

I lost my first atomizer today :( It has not been that long and it bothers me because it is my "cinnamon" atty. I used it with Cinna-Bomb (VaporBomb) and just started Atomic Cinnacide (TV) today.

I have rinsed the atty with HOT water and blown out and let dry a couple times throughout my 17 day journey. I also used a atomizer cleaner tube full of mouthwash once (switching flavors).

Why do you think my atty went dead so early? Too much cleaning? or maybe just a bad atty to begin with? Thanks so much.

p.s. I have a couple extras, but I use them for fruit and coffee flavors.

17 days is rather short, but it does happen. If it is cold and dead after cleaning and complete drying, and there is no glow from a dry burn (activating the atty on the batt without juice or cart on), it is most likely dead. Also, if you have a multimeter and the resistance between the hole at the center of the threaded end and the outside of the threads is fluctuating, that means the coil broke. If you read a resistance lower than 2 ohms, there is not enough coil material there to heat up. I don't think cinnamon will corrode the coil, but cinnamon can be corrosive to some materials.

If the mouthwash has alcohol in it, it could have dissolved some important adhesive in the atty.

The attys are not really meant to last more than a month. But if it has a warranty, I would contact the vendor, and you might get a replacement.

You might post this question to the Joye 510 forum: Joye 510 - E-Cigarette Forum. You can get more interactive feedback. People will probably ask where you got them, and what make of 510 atty it is (there are a few, Joye being one). Without more info, however, I would be hard pressed to say what exactly happened, but...

I do not recommend frequent cleaning...in my experience it shortens the life of an atty. Use Crest Health Pro, soak for 10 min, fluch with lots of hot water.

In general its good to clean the threads off. They can get a char buildup that can degrade the connection. Same is true for the batt threads.

Make sure the batt is fully charged.

Try to avoid flooding...its hard on the coil.

Buy backups, if you haven't already. Attys always die when you least want them too.

In general, new users have a higher atty-death rate than more experienced vapors, because they are too hard on the attys. Vaping to atty-dryness too often (burnt taste), washing too many times or too harshly, poking and prodding the insides, removing the atty wick threads, and other innocent but potentially fatal things.

But check into the warranty. Many vendors have a 30 day return policy.

Good luck!
