have been dripping for a while now but sometimes (new atty) it will produce vapes then suddenly flood. i know how much to put in. so then i blow it out and refill with a couple drops and get a burning flavor but leaks at the same time.

at a loss when this happens and just have to put it down and grab a carto

any thoughts?

I've got the SAME freakin problem with two of my brand new atomizers. And let me say something- this is not user error. I know how to treat my atomizers and I direct drip as well, have been for a while and have never had this problem until these two atomizers (or FLOODOMIZERS I should say) came along. I wish I could help you but I'm kind of in the same boat and need help too. Good luck!

The same thing has happened to me a few times as well. Only with a couple atty's I've had ( ironically they came from TW with my Tornado). As little as 2 drops and they would leak like crazy. I attribute it to poor quality control. I think it has to do with the nickel mesh surrounding the atty. Or, more precisely, a lack of. Those attys only worked for me with a VERY thick liquid or a slow wicking material in a cartridge for a couple weeks. After about 2 weeks of suffering they seemed to work okay for a week or so then they just died. Those atty's not only cost me my sanity, but also a couple rolls of paper towels.

I've had the same problem with my 901 atty from Eastmall ... but after about a week it's stopped leaking...maybe I've just had a build up of gunk from all the dripping that I've done that's clogged it? I also find that after you drip, leave your PV horizontal after use..I find that that also helps.

Someones got to know something!
The atomizer flooding depends on
1 Density and how viscous is the e-liquid you're using. VG is a lot more dense than PG so VG drops are usually bigger and evaporate at a higher temperature which translates in more time to be evaporated and generating more chances to flood the atty.
2 State of the fibres where the resistance is wrapped around. The more burned juice there is, the less those fibres can absorb the liquid that the resistance should vaporise with the effect of just flowing down flooding the atomizer. In this case you will not only notice more frequent floods but also bad burned taste and low vapour production
3 Size of the drops you're dripping in. Depending on what measuring jug you're using even 2 drops could be too much while in other case you can also drip 3 or 4.
Another tip. If you feel like the atomizer is bubbling a bit but not too much, instead of cleaning everything just incline the e-cig with the led part pointing up but beware, if the atty is too flooded you might have a nasty drink so in most cases you can just hold the e-cig horizontal. after a while you can try inclining the e-cig back with the led down and check if the bubbling sound is still there. If there isn't you can continue vaping that way since gravity pulled the liquid towards the cartridge while you were inclining the e-cig up or just the liquid in excess has been vaporised so everything is ok.
Hope this helped. Let me know!:vapor:

Was just about to start a thread on this.

Last night I went through 8 of my atomizers, 5 of which I had declared, "unusable". (5 of which still are)

My findings:
The hole underneath the coil is too large and varies between atomizers. I wasted more juice than I wanted to while discovering this.

On the few atomizers I have that do work well (dripping) I've noticed the coil will stay wet longer and the liquid will somewhat pool around the coil. (Its evident if you've removed the bridge/wick on one of your atomizers)

On ALL of my "unusable" atomizers, As soon as I drip onto the coil, the liquid vanishes below the coil and through the ceramic piece. I'll get maybe 1-2 puffs, most likely due to the initial drops on the coil, but after that... *nothing*

I also noticed that while running hot water through the atomizer, on my working atomizers the water doesn't flow out of the battery end as fast as it does on the non-working atomizers. (It kind of dribbles on the working ones) Hence why my conclusion is that the hole in the ceramic piece is too large and/or the coil/mesh/wick isn't enough to keep the liquid at a level where the atty can vaporize it.

Hope that helps...

Atomizers I own: all 510
Janty/Dura, Gen. Joye510, SLB, SLB Custom LR

My favorite atty atm has a distinct "restrictive" draw on it. All my other attys' seem to be free flowing, and produce very little flavour, and flood easily.

Would anyone suggest that these free flowing ones need to "break in" (over time, the breather hole may close up slightly?)

or just say "Sod it" and buy another multi-pack.

Suggesstions?
