If it tastes NASTY it's still got factory primer fluid in it.... what nic strength are you using?

it doesn't taste super nasty, just very harsh. and i'm using 24mg from litecigusa

Try taking several draws from it and blowing them out without inhaling to help clear out the primer. AND... I recommend you start with very shallow, short, and soft draws. Build them up longer as you acclimate to it. It does take a while to get used to it.

:)

it might be just that. i'm used to the fifty-one trio, and i had to suck on that like i was gonna make love to it after to get decent vapor. this 510 SMACKS! it could be a combination of that, and i haven't tried this green tea vapor in the other device yet, and might not be too fond of it.

With primer, it can take a good 20 mouth-puffs to get it out. I usually puff on it without cart, not inhaling, until I get no vapor at all. Then put a few drops of my juice on the bridge, put on the full cart, and enjoy.

Another thing that can make a harsh nasty vape is when the cart is on and the atty is too dry, which means the juice is done or the cart isn't wicking well to the bridge. Stock cart filler does not behave properly sometimes. Make sure it is fluffed up well and wet with juice.

Ya, high nic content with a good e-cig (like the 510) will give you a throat hit you can feel, especially if you're used to something lighter. You can try a direct inhale straight into you lungs and exhale as soon as it gets harsh or do a mouth inhale and take a quick draw into your lungs to get a quick throat hit. It's a little different than smoking analogues....;)

or the juice could just be horrible - I'm not knocking hte company but you may just hate that flavor juice. Its so SO subjective that what I mfind deliscious you might hate and vice versa. It could also be any of the things mentioned above too.
I do take a bunch of primer puffs on a new atty myself - like smoking a cigar is like (I guess, never smoked one but Ive seen it done).
The nic could be too strong for you (easy EASY to over/under estimate the amount that is your 'right' amount) as well.
Try a different cart and see how it tastes?

It still could be too much nicotine - I was almost a 2-packer myself and 24mg is too much for me to vape without coughing or feeling a too-big TH. I can take a couple of anti-craving vapes on the 24mg but I find the 12mg is much better for my style of vaping (pacifier-like, ie, a lot).
Its still early days with your new atty though - its not beyond the bounds of possibility thats its just got primer on it still and youll have to puff like a train to get rid of it.

It might very well be that your taste buds are still dead. Don't worry... they will wake up! (Wow... that sounds like part of a story to tell a small child!) Eventually you will taste the flavors. And some will be strong, some will be weak, and some will be just right! (Had to carry on the child's story idea.)

Since multiple liquids are giving the same harshness even over different nicotine levels I would guess that it is probably your technique. Try softer, shorter draws.... Tiny little ones and see how that goes.

it had to have been. it was getting a little discouraging because it was taking a lot of hits to get it all out, and i blew out the atty for like 5 mins before even putting it on the battery. but woo, i do love this thing now. the battery doesn't last long at all. i may have been vaping a little excessivley, but the battery is dead already.

I had the same problem with the harsh hits when I was new. We started with 18mb/ml and are now down to about 10 (mix our own). I thought I couldn't use PG and have been mixing my own VG, but it turns out that I can use PG. I just had to get used to vapor instead of smoke. I've also found that the inhalation is a little different on pvs (ecigs) than on an analog cig.

i can get about an hour on one batt chain-vaping my 510.

if your getting less than that there might be a problem.

EDIT (you hit "post" before i did)

I thought I couldn't use PG ... but it turns out that I can use PG. I just had to get used to vapor instead of smoke.

same thing happened with me. it takes awhile to train yourself to use.
