When I received my first starter kit on 7/6/09, I didnt pay attention to how long the batteries lasted. I really didnt even think about much more then how to use it effectively. About a week into using it, I started looking into different things (VG, cart filler and other mods). Around this time my atomizer started to not work as well. Through the help of the members of the forum, it was revealed to me that I had flooded it, and after I drained it, it started working fine again. This made me start paying attention to the life span of my PV. It didnt seem too big of a deal to me, for some reason I got it in my head that atty would go out first, and then soon after the batteries would start to go.

Today is day 17 of using my 510. Since day 1 i have been rotating one battery with the other, through my PCC. I Noticed last week, that most days I would go through 2, maybe 3 fresh batteries. Today, I swear I changed it every 3-4 hours. Does it seem early to start doing that ? Do they die a slow painful death over the course of a few weeks ? Should I be using the wall charger more then the PCC ?

I have loved using my PV since the first day I used it. Honestly, today I am frustrated. I dont know if I this is normal, and I just read some bad info, or if I just got screwed by the luck of the draw.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

*EDIT* also, I had heard that either peice of the 510 would last 1-2 months. Can anyone who has been through a few of them advise me there ?

"This is my Vapor, this is my gun, This is for pleasure, this is for fun!" From what I can tell from others experience, it seems a good routine cleaning of all parts is neccesary to keep all parts in good working order... It doesn't seem like rotating the "charged" batteries would preserve a long life of your ecig as much as keeping the atomizers clean will. Try rotating atomizers every day, Blow them out every night into a napkin before bed and let them stand on end (battery connection up). Be sure to moisten the bridge before your morning vape.

here's a video maintenance guide for the 510:
E-Cig video user guides
there's info there about cleaning atty's and the threads and such on batteries.
also - I would try the wall charger vs. pcc
I would be curious to see if there's a difference.. I would imagine the pcc s do get tired eventually??

all that said 510 batteries are notorious for their short usage time.
I am always amazed at those that report hours of usage time.
as I get about 45 mins out of a battery - heavy vaping.

eta: congrats on day 17! - good work!

I have 14 batteries and only use 3 in rotation. When I first got them the batts would last 3-4 hours of vaping. Today, 2 months later, they last for about 2.5- 3 hours. Yes , they have lost a little, but when charged I get just as good of a vape as when I bought them. I do clean the threads with alcohol from time to time. My attys are staying with me for about the same time. I clean them with alcohol as well, and rotating 3 of them. By the way the batts are the same 3, I have 11 in reserve.

same here, using the same 3 batts as i did at end of feb. If I was still using my 801 over that same time I would have probably gone thru 20 or so by now.

Most people today spend some decent amount of time at the computer. I know I spend quite a good deal at the PC whether I'm at work or home. If this is the case for you, then you can start saving your batteries some unwarranted grief.

Grab a 510 USB passthrough. It acts as the battery, gives a slightly better hit, and your batteries can be charging the whole time.

Really? I've read that alot of people actually experience worse hits using the passthru, but I plan on getting one anyway to see how it works for me.

I do the same thing with my PCC, one battery is always charging, and when I feel vapor is dying down a little, I swap em out. I never really let them die.

I routinely clean my attys and threads but today no matter which I used all batts seemed weak. Funny that I found the problem WAS the attys. After a quick blow, alcohol drop, rinse, blow and dry, everything is vaping like new. I don't use alcohol everytime now I know the signs to look for. I was heavy handing the button trying to get a decent vape and killing the batts.

When I used to use manual 510 batteries, I would get maybe 30-45 minutes of vaping. If I was getting 3 hours I would have been a happy camper!

LOL before my little cleaning experiment I was down to about 45 minutes.. I did this at 5 pm est it is now 9:40 pm and I am just changing the first batt... Wooo Hooo!!!!

I vape constantly almost.
