My uncle got his 510 kit in the mail today and I must say, it's an awesome pv. The only problem is, of course, the battery life. (He vapes almost non stop.:( My question is, can he buy an Ego battery and charger and use the rest of the 510 kit that he already has?? Is there any other hardware that would be needed? I do know that ima recommend to him to get some LR attys while hes at it. :p Thanks for your help and have a great vape day folks! -Trey

eGo batt, charger and cone. Imo, the cone is part of the physics going on there not just an aesthetic thing. Although it will work without the cone of course. The LR attys are less of a necessity with the eGo/tornado batt.

Oh yeah, didn't think about the cone. lol. So the Ego vapes better with regular 510 attys than the 510 does? That's good to know. I'm getting an Ego at the end of this week and still gonna get LR attys cause yeah I want it to kick ....!

ego and charger will be compatible with his setup. Huge difference.

Thaank you. Hes excited about not having to buy a whole kit. Good info guys. Thanks! I really like the 510. It's a big step up from what I've started out on. I cant wait to have the Ego in my hand! :2cool:

Noticeable difference.

Keep them soaked with juice and you might want to get a drip tip with them as well. The 1.5 ohm LR 510's will melt cart walls. I'm trying a 'new' 2.0 from SLB right now. Not quite as hot as the 1.5's d'uh ;-) and yet a bit more kick than the 2.1. Only thing is no metal mesh base as with the Joyes. I think the ideal ohm for the LR 510 would be 1.8ohm for a true 3.7v mod batt like the 14500.

the regular 510 battery is notorious for it's short puffs per charge
most people know this before they buy it
i use a 510 mega battery, about twice the puffs but about 3 times the charge time
i use the 510 with my Passthrough while at my computer a lot, then battery problem is gone
i also have 6 510 batteries to rotate

yeah, people complain about the about the 510's short battery life and too hot atomizer and then buy and use even more of them, ever wonder why? is it because it is so close to being the perfect ecig that people try to force it to be better? have you tried it's new reincanation, the eGO? may that is what people are really looking for but i understand that the battery for the eGO is better but the atomizer is the same

Next on the list is a hv pv. That's gonna be awesome! To be continued...;) -trey

To tell you the truth I'd just skip right to a mod that takes both 3.7 and 6 volt battery set ups. Once I tried 6V with high resistance attys (get attys here *New*High Voltage SLB 3.5? 510 Atomizer ) going back to 3.7 volts is a let down.
Look for a mod that takes an 18650 battry for 3.7V or 2, cr123 batteries for 6.0V. An 18650 will hold a charge 3 to 4 times longer than an eGo battery and cost $6.00 to $7.00 as opposed to the $22.00 the eGo battery costs. The cr123s at 880mAh last a little longer than an eGo battery too. EGos are rated at 650 mAh.

I agree 100%

If he knows vaping is going to work for him I would just go with a mod. I really don't see how you can go wrong with a silver bullet or the chuck.

They are basically gonna cost just a small amount more than an eGo but you have that hv option later down the road. Plus these mods last DAYS on a single charge with a 3.7v battery.

Who really cares if the battery only last a few hours. Just get a PCC and rotate them. Mini e-cig batteries (not talking about ego like devices) that last a long time have crappy atomizers. You want a lot of vapor on a regular sized battery? Well, your gonna have short battery life (that's my electronic engineering degree speaking). 510 batteries perform as intended and I don't believe they are flawed like some people say.

I know. That's why I didn't order a 510 when he did. I knew that the battery life was short but I wanted to see if it would be an issue for me since everyone's usage is a little different and the term "short" is a relative term. LOL

Hm. Didn't really think about it that way...the reason, though, that I hadn't been considering something like the Chuck or Silver Bullet was the size. I mean, I know that the Ego is bigger than the 510 and considerably larger than an analog but it didn't look (based on video reviews from youtube) that much larger. But, since you say that, I've started looking around and will continue to research this option. I would love to have a device that I could readily vape at 6v with...:headbang:

Oh yeah, in case you decide to go with a mod here's a list of available mods.
e-Cig Battery....

Thanks for the link and thanks for all the advice, everyone! :2cool:
