I have a 510 on the way and I'm trying to get a realistic idea of the battery life so I know what I'm up against.

I do not have a PCC yet so this is important to me (i will be buying one next paycheck).

Anyway, I've heard 2 hours, I've heard 3 hours... these numbers are all subjective. What I'm looking for is a "straight burn time" what i mean is, if you were to count how long each button press is for, then add them all up, what is the actual "vaping time" of the 510.

If i start my work day with a fresh battery, and have 6 puff breaks @ 10 minutes a peice, thats only technically an hour, so will i be good ALL DAY on one battery if I'm only puffing at those intervals? I know its not 2 hours from the first burn regardless of use, thats just silly.

I'd be scared to rely on one battery without a PCC for that time, even though it might be fine. With a charged PCC, you'll probably be OK, although it never hurts to be safe (you could get stranded on the road and end up waiting 2 hours for a tow, or the boss asks you to put in an overtime shift in an emergency, etc.).

I'm about to go back to school (unless my job interview this week puts an end to my unemployment), and I'm planning to take an assembled unit along with a PCC holding a batt, atty/cart and 2 carts, ideally with both batts and the PCC charged before I set out (half an hour's drive to school, lunch break and 2 other breaks, half an hour back).

Thanks trog, thats what I was looking for!

Well the unit ships with two batteries and I got the car charger, so I can charge the extra battery in the car to be safe, then switch out...

Essentially ill have to use my car as my PCC until i get one and thats fine. I'm a web developer - free lance so when I'm at the office I'm still on "my own time" so I can come and go as a i please... i know. its nice :)

If you're in your car a lot, get a pasthrough - next payday :)

Joye Dura-C 510 USB Passthrough - Black - freshsmoking.com
JOYE510 Manual Battery Silver

Eliminates battery change altogether. You'll need a 1amp car plug:
