DSE means they are clones? I thought the DSE referred to Joye somehow? The 801 kit looks liike a Joye product.

Some people actually do like them. I've got two (labeled "Joy", and I was a newbie), and while I use them, I don't exactly care much for them. They also are intended to run on 3.7v, so you have the usual compatibility problem.
Seems they do somewhat better on high voltage, and of course they were not affected by what seems like a bad batch recently in the US.

Pretty sure the topic is based on model, not manufacturer. There is no other 510 area. Not sayin, just sayin.
Well, there is not - but that still doesn't make the copies Joyes. Neither by name, nor by technical details. ("Same threads" is not quite "same model".)
Since however there another forum does not exist, and the other sub-forums in this section are also all named after the maker of the original model, and since AFAIK in the other forums clones are discussed as well, I don't see why we should not discuss them here.

I guess I'll ask the mods to start a "Cheap, under performing, imitations" forum.
Oh, come on, there is not a forum for every clone out there, and why should there be. If that really disturbes you, how about renaming the forum to the main model numbers instead. Makes a lot more sense to me.

I used the BE510 attys for a while and those suckers never burn out. The batteries, on the other hand, are a different story!

Why do some members here bash other brands... As far as I know, Joye did not design the first ecig... they had to "copy/clone" the technology. Just my thoughts... Friendship/morality/brotherly love
No bashing from me here. DSE510 attys are actually different than Joye. The coils are at about 3 ohms, whereas the Joyes are 2.3-2.5 ohms. On regular and mega batts the DSE510s are too weak as a result for some. But on stronger mods, they can be quite nice, and they last a long time.
