Should the cartridge line up with the wick (parallel) or perpendicular?

Its a preference thing... No performance issues either way. Just dont spin it once you've pushed it in all the way,line it up the way you want then seat it. Otherwise you will end up messing up the filler in your cart and may even damage your bridge.

It's not a 'preference' thing. Unless to burn or not burn the plastic is considered a 'preference'.

To the OP, trimming about an 1/8" of plastic off the cart make life easier. You'll note the filler is recessed in the cart anyway.
