Been checking out litecigusa.net and liberty flights for a 510 cartomizer, a few questions,,should I get pre-filled or empty? Arent they both re-fillable ? What is a boge soft cap ? I understand I need a standard resistence cartomizer,, NOT a low resistence, to be compatable with my 510 battery, , so what is a low resitence carto for ? How long does a cartomizer last if you refill it,? Is it disposable after a while ?? Do vapers usually toss their cartridge and atomizer once they get into cartomizers?? also what is a mod ?? any other site you suggest for cartos? thanks as always for the help ,keep on vapin'

I would get empty (blank) cartos, but you can refill both. Soft cap just means the mouth-piece is a softer plastic and it's easier to pop out for filling. LR for a carto is 2.0ohms. I can't really tell you how long a carto is going to last and they are meant to be disposable. Some will last a few weeks, other might last a few days.

I still use atomizers, but that's because I drip. I don't use carts anymore.

mods are usually those e-cigs that have a separate battery, like my Chameleon or Indulgence. They're normally at least 3.7V.

woman of heart: when you say you "still use atomizers but thats because I drip-I dont use carts anymore" ,doesnt a cartomizer take the place of an atomizer and a cartridge?? Dont you drip BOTH into a atomizer/cartridge and also into a cartomizer ? When you say you drip --into what?? You dont use cartridges -because you dont need one on a cartomizer ? sorry still learning my terminology

Dripping uses a drip tip and an atomizer. The drip tip is just a hollow piece that replaces the cart. When I'm away from home in places where I can't drip, then I use cartomizers exclusively. You drip juice through the drip tip into the atomizer and the juice goes directly to the bridge of the atomizer. The taste is better and there's very little to no juice wasted.

Don't toss your atty away. You can use them to try new flavors later on. You won't want to fill a carto with a flavor you might not like and wasting that carto. Carto is hard to wash, and I think other have said it not the same after you wash them. I usually toss the cartos away after 4 or more refills. When you find the carto tasting weak even after a refill that time to toss them out. How long a carto will last will depend on each person. You will know it's dry when you start getting a burn taste.

If you are using a slim 510 battery then you are not supposed to use LR accessories. LR (low resistance) attys and cartos can damage a slim battery. LR (and standard) cartos/attys can be used by Ego and Riva and other fat-battery 510-threaded models.

The prefilled ones are filled with Chinese PG juice. I don't want to vape 100% PG juice - my tongue gets sore from the nic in 100% PG. I vape US juices that are a PG/VG blend. If you know you like one of those Chinese juices you could get the prefilled as long as it says they are soft cap.

Cth - that's vendor bs - you can use a cartridge (the kind that sticks on at atty) close to forever. You need to replace the stuffing occasionally. I recommend the precut blue foam stuffing for 510 at strictlyejuice.com

Cartomizers (combined atty and cart) have limited lives. You may get a 1-2 weeks of use out of a Boge 510 carto (I have). by then it is weaker and doesn't taste as good. I set them aside and will try to clean them some day. Some people have success with cleaning, some do not.

Even if you nd up using cartomizers all the time you will use your atomizer for trying new juices. And if you get manual 510 batteries you can use a drip tip on the atty and drip juices. (manuals are sealed on the end and much safer from drips. autos can be killed by a drip and you need to be very careful with cartos too on auto batteries)

@Pandatera - You're right about using atties to test new flavors and diminished flavor/performance after refilling a carto numerous times and but the 4 refill comment stumps me. I refill a carto four times in a few hours. Like I said, I'm a heavy vapor but unless it's some cheap-cheap-cheap off-brand carto I've never heard of or used, I can't imagine tossing one after only 4 refills.

With that logic, I'd probably be using up 10 or more a day! Seems crazy.
