510 cartomizer question(plastic inside piece)

Just got some blank 510 cartos to put on my ego,working nice so far but I dont understand one of the pieces..
Obviously the soft tip comes off to gain access to the fiber,but there is an additional,this time clear,plastic piece that seems to be just below or touching the white end cap.The first time I removed the white end cap I saw this clear piece and removed it thinking thats how you use it.The second time I removed the end cap,this clear piece came off with the cap since they are so close to each other in distance and design.Now im starting to think this might prevent liquid from getting in mouth even though im having no such problem.
Do I leave this clearish looking piece inside my cartomizer?

It's my understanding that the clear plastic part is to keep liquid from getting in your mouth. I don't know as you HAVE to put it back in, but I would

I take them out most of the time. If you take them out keep them I have found other uses for them I have put them in e2 cartos so they dont leak as easy. I see no reason why or why not to take them out????

I ditch the soft caps and use a drip tip on the end of my 510 Boge cartos... never had an issue with juice leaking out.
I say get rid of the plastic thing. If anything, it's just reducing air flow.

I bought Boge carto's and they didn't have the clear plastic piece. I got some SLB's and they did. I can't tell a difference between them when vaping so I wouldn't worry about it if it comes out. I too believe it's there to help prevent getting juice in your mouth, but if you don't overfill it isn't a problem anyway.
