510 carts issues?

Hey all so just got my 510 and just wondering about it. See it came with those prefilled carts. Isnt there suppose to be a piece of cotton stuffed in there? Isn't that what holds the e juice? I didnt see anything in there at all, just a small dot of some sort. Do I need to add something to it? Another thing... When it came in its sealed packaged. It was kind of wet. Once I pulled it out it was leaking all over and running down the sides. Is this normal? Will this always be an issue?

the wetness is primer on the atty, and is pretty standard. The carts attached to the ecig in it's packaging are typically empty of filler, while the ones in the box, unattached to batteries, have filling, and (hopefully) juice.

oh ok... I wasnt sure about that. Is it a good idea to top off pre filled carts? Again its weird becuase I dont see any cotton in the cart to put the e juice into.

i took the cottony stuff out of my carts and replaced it with the marineland blue foam. no more weird burnt taste. i'm also using vg. it's very clean tasting and produces lots of vapor.

if you smoke those prefilled 510 carts id be willing to bet youll regret it they taste horrible. and yes you should defenatly have a type of (cotton) in there its like a wick in a lighter it helps hold fluid. e juice is the wat to go if its a 510 i usually just drop a couple drops of juice on the atty then a couple on the tip of the cotton in my cart and it tastes very very nice about 10 inhales ltr just add a couple more drops

Really! you wouldn't believe how many packages I get late, opened and missing a few items now and then. Hell I can't afford both of our habits.

yeah, my fault... I was messing with the cart that came on the atom when I first opened it. I opened a prefilled and there it was. So its safe to say its wise to swap out that cotton like stuff for something differant? Like what?

I am really interested in this thread, I have tried a lot of units but still have so much to learn. From my experience, a 510 (I strongly disagree that all 510 types are labelled as 510s) typically comes with a protective cartridge that should be replaced once the unit/package/set is opened. All e-cigs typically come with 'pre-filled' cartreidges which should be used. They again, typically contain a sponge type material holding the e-liquid. The sponge should not be replaced until it discolours or becomes deformed slightly due to the constant contact with the atomizer.

Why would you switch it? Yes, I have heard you can 'replace' it and keep using the same cart with e-juice but I am not clear why you would benefit by replacing it?

Well so far using a 510 atty with a drip tip works great for me even better if you remove the wick and bridge.

you replace it just because the old flavors linger it gets burnt ect its called pollyfill if you get the reg stuff any juicer usually sells it. but you dont need to replace it everytime just if you end up burning it. its like 75 cents for a bag that would last you a yr

You know... I don't know. I read it somewhere. Someone was saying that they like to switch it out and becasue ot that it holds more and dosent leak out as much. Other than that I dont know.
