510 Charger

My original 510 charger broke today. I have NO idea what I'm going to do now (buy a real pack? I don't know!) but really need advice on GOOD 510 chargers that can be sold to Canada... preferably quickly.

My initial charger came with my first 510 set in 2009 from viecs.com. I was using it on and off but I've now been using it religiously for 2 months. I couldn't find my 510 after a move so I ordered another one from madvapes.com which came with a corded charger that was a dud (stayed green when plugged in). After informing them that this happened, I ordered ejuice from them and a direct usb charger from them- it worked ONCE. When I removed the ecig, the whole thing fell apart.

So where can I order a charger now? One option is viecs again but I don't know if I was lucky to get a working charger when I did or if they are consistent with giving out working ones. I love Madvapes for their ejuices but their hardware is lacking. This is kind of an emergency. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! Have you personally purchased from this store, chargers, with satisfying results? I'm really worried because money is tight but I'm doing what's working for me to quit analogs for good! I'm not ready to quit vaping, lol.

These are the 2 kits I own: 510 Mega Auto Kit and "Vi-X 510 Starter Kit Black With Manual Batteries" from viecs.com (can't provide link, they switched to vapoursolutions).

Do not use the Rapid Charger on a 510 stick battery. The Rapid Charger is meant for the eGos that have a higher mAh rating and they will damage the 510 stick batteries.

The rapid charger I bought (not from canvape) for my twists and the one that came with my joyetech 510 kit have the same output. 4.2v at 420ma. I've been using them with all my batteries for months without any issue.

Did the genuine joyetech 510s used to use a different charger?

Yes, I have bought chargers and many other items from them. They have the best service in Canada! IMHO

That may be my mistake. I think the stick 510s used to have lower mAh, (100 -150?) These new sticks are 280 mAh and are probably OK with the Rapid Charger. I charge my 350 mAh Minis (that I paid too much for because I didn't buy them from Canvape) with the Rapid Charger with no problems, so they would probably be OK for the 280 mAh.

Somebody with 510 experience will be able to confirm if the lower mAh units used a different charger..

I'd suggest a genuine joyetech charger, personally I always seem to have problems with other chargers; Joyetech 510 USB Charger. You could also consider a pcc ( personal charging case ), so you can charge a battery a few times on the go OR use as a backup charger. Neither of these fit an assembled 510, which bugs me .. but they are still handy.

Onestopeshoppe has the AIO 510 PCC Kit which comes with an extra battery and cartomizers or the Joye 510 Personal Charging Case (PCC) - of course these only work with regular sized batteries, not the mega length.

It doesn't help in the short term, but if you want some more genuine joyetech batteries and a spare charger, health cabin in China is the cheapest I've found, but shipping takes close to a month.

I've got one word: Spares! I recommend you to have spares on every important component you need for vaping.

My first was the Titan Tank (510-T) from totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk, and it came with a 150mA charger. An eGo battery doesn't get fully charged with it. I have used a 420mA eGo charger for the 220mAh 510 battery without noticable ill results.

That's what came with my kit, the 150mah genuine joyetechs manual batteries. One charger has the joyetech logo, the other is unbranded, but the back stickers are exactly the same.

Either way, it'll charge one of my little 510s in about 20 minutes, and a 650mah twist in about an hour or so. Haven't had any ill effects, but quite honestly, I could care less if my 150mahs crap out on me. I'm just waiting for one of them to die so I can rip the female threads off the top of it and use it in a box mod. :)

Anyone have luck with hardware from canvapes? They have cheaper prices for chargers: 510 USB Battery Plug Charger but don't provide specifications for it, exactly.

What ultimately gets me is the shipping costs of all of this. :S

PS- Whoops, just noticed now that the original comment addresses this. :p

yeah - I ordered some product from canvape (canvape is awesome by the way - my go to store moving forward) and I forgot to get the charger... it's 15bucks shipping to me... so the charger in reality is $20bucks...

I'm going to bite the bullet an make a combined order instead...

But the reality of it is canvape ROCKS!!!

Their customer support is amazing... they answer all my emails within the hour...

Shipping in Canada is expensive. No way around it. Sucks when you just want to buy one or two things for sure.
Yeah, I estimate that about 25-30% of my total vaping costs so far have been for shipping. Yuck.

Makes me wish I lived in GTA or Van where there's B&M locations. You'd think calgary would get with the program already.

You might as well stock up on the things you know you are going to use eventually like cartomizers .

I used to think the same way, but with the pace the markets are filled with new products, it didn't turn out too well for me. I was dead set on eGo-C, but when I tried my first clearo (Stardust), I knew that I had to move on. I hope some of my friends would turn to vaping so my useless gear would get used. eGo-C is still an okay vape, and modding them helps with the performance and leaking.

That is why I make sure to spend at least $100 on any order I made . You might as well stock up on the things you know you are going to use eventually like cartomizers . It is not like a carto is going to go stale if you buy it now instead of later .

I think the problem is two-fold for me, as a new vaper. First, I know that I'm going to outgrow my 808d gear soon, so I don't want to stock up on too much stuff if it means I get to upgrade to twists or something else sooner. In the same way, I'm still in the "trying out flavours" stage. I already spent probably close to $100 on juices I don't really like (fruit flavours, yuck) or that are the wrong strength for me, but I think in the end I'm out less for buying a bunch of 5mL samplers at $5 a pop than 30mL bottles for $15.

The other frustration I have is that it seems like the best hardware vendors don't sell good juice, and vice-versa. So even if I only want carts and a bottle of juice, I'm still paying for shipping twice.

I wish i saw this earlier. You can get small stuff like shipped snail mail for a few bucks.
