It is Diffinately possible for a charger to go bad!

I have a wall charger that if I don't exactly possition the battery at exactly the right spot, it will only charge the battery for about 10 minutes. Sometimes if I shake the charger, It will start to charge again, sometimes not. Probably a loose wire or connection.

But I would also say that if a battery is a year old that it could be that the battery is worn out.

Most of the batteries I read about say that they are good for about 200 to 300 charges. That said, I find that most things like batteries at the price that we pay for them Never live up to the full claim of life span by the manuacture.

Not sure what type of battery you have but most chargers are not than expensive. You might try getting a new charger and if that isn't work your not out an arm and a leg.

Also, having 2 chargers never hurts.

In my experience if a charger goes out it will not charge at all.

There are power fluctuations that cause chargers and various power supplies to "hic-up" and if you unplug them from the wall for a few seconds, then plug back in. You then start with clean power to the charger.

(Mostly you see this with home routers, home switches, home DSL or Cable Modems, and some times portable phones that are not on a UPS.)

Thanks everyone. I pride myself on being well stocked but have just now realized that I didn't have a back-up wall charger. Oh the shame of it all! I do have a USB charger and the battery is charging on it still. The batteries are not a year old. I wish I could get that long out of one,lol I guess I'm off to order a couple of chargers.

One of the deciding factors in trying an e-Cig was that when I smoked, I was spending between $160 and $200 a month on analogs.

My thought was if I can vape for less than that, it is a win. So when I have a problem with a battery or a charger or what ever, I just smile and think, "I'm saving a Boat load of cash over analogs, I can afford to spend a few bucks on a new e-Cig accessory!"

It's nice to have an extra this or an extra that laying around. Things always seem to break at the worst p[possible times.

BTW - I spent 25 bucks on e-Juice last month. Sure beats going to the Liquor store every day and giving them $5.75 for a pack of smokes.

I'm a firm believer on having backup for my backups. Check out my blog on here and you'll see that I take my hardware very seriously. I can't believe I didn't realize that I had only one 510 wall charger. I have 2 PCCs and a USB charger that is usually in my purse with my Kensington and my Case logic case full of ecig gear. I am not one that skimps on supplies. This is a literal life and death option for me. If I smoke, I die. No if, and or butts (pun intended) It's just not like me to not have something and that is surprising to me.

Jules22871!!! The girl of my dreams!!!...I thought I was the only "Back ups for my backs" OCD type, lol. Here is a very reasonable 510 wall charger:

Joye 510 AC Charger

Get as many as you need.......

BUT it sounds like your batt is bad......its the batt that will take as much power as it need before reading full....good luck!!

Thanks for the link. I'll def order a couple. Someone sent me a new charger and my batts are now lasting a couple of hours each instead of 10 minutes, so it had to be the charger.

I must be OCD too. One of my concerns switching to vaping was having something go dead or running out of something and running back to analogs for my fix. So I not only have back ups for my back ups but also a brand new one in the cabinet just in case. In case of what? Who knows, but if my charger quits charging I have 3 others ready to go.
I have plenty of 901 chargers and I dont even use them much at all.

As you can see by My Stash I pride myself on being prepared. I can't believe I let myself run out of 510 chargers! I know I'm out of 510 PCCs because I've got my brother-in-law working on quitting and my son has his Chuck in the Chuckspital so he has to have one to take to work. I'm not worried about the PCCs because I have 3 Kensingtons and all the adapter cords to go with them. So I'm set for on the go or getting stuck in the hospital without notice. You can see by the case logic case that I carry in my purse that I will not run out of anything if I am stuck away from home for any length of time. I refuse to get caught out and need a cigarette. It's just not going to happen. I need to tale some pics this weekend and update them. I Have more of everything except 510 chargers, lol

uuugh. this happened to my 510 charger. the lights and everything seemed as usual but it wouldn't actually charge my batts at all.... I ordered two more, and am now stuck vaping on my 401s until they arrive. How did i overlook getting a spare charger!?!?!?!

That's me! I have back ups for back ups. How on earth did I not have another 510 charger? I went thru all my hardware to make sure i had chargers for everything after that, lol

My wall charger I got with my Joye510 kit is going bad I think. When I place a battery in the charger it will go from red to green quick. Unless I move the battery up (north position on the charger port) it will change to red.

Today it was strange, one of my batteries, don't know if it was my first blue led (from my kit) or a new one. With out pressing the button the thing would not stop heating up the atty! No led indicator, it was strange and scary.

I have no idea what's going on, so in the meantime I bought a 10 port charger from cignot. I should really just carry my usb passthrough since I'm always at work or home in front of a computer.
