I bought 2 of the $10 ones for xmas presents. Still going strong and they're eyeballing their first choices of liquid to purchase! I really couldn't beat the price tag to have a few people try out vaping. To tell the truth, for all the 510 people out there, it isn't a bad setup for a night on the town.

So what your saying is that this "disposable 510" atty doesn't work on standard 510 batteries?
Sorry, I missed this thread and just now stumbled back upon it.

The disposables and standard parts all interchange. The disposables use auto switch batteries so you pull air in through the bottom of the atomizer as well as through the sides. The standard atomizer has two holes in the side at 180 degrees to each other and one in the bottom. The "disposable" atomizer has one in the bottom and one on the side.

When a disposable is screwed into a manual battery, the bottom hole is blocked by the battery and you draw only through the one small hole in the side. So, it draws harder than if you had the two holes.

The disposables are going strong here. But, we've switched mostly to nicosticks so the standard and disposable batteries aren't getting a lot of use except for when stealth vaping is needed.

Trying out our disposable 510s but I'm still not sure about a lot of things.
-Is this the usual size of a 510? I really do like the size, compared to my M401.
-If I ordered regular 510 stock what would work with the batteries, atomizers and chargers I have now?
-Is the draw on a 510 always so light?
-Do all 510s have the whistle tips like these?

I get good vapor but no throat hit. I'm not convinced I'd want to switch from my M401s. The biggest reason would also be that I like the little bit of resistance I get from the M401 when I draw. Plus, I'm not sure I'm getting the flavor as strong.
So far I don't see what all the 510 fuss is about but I'm still working with it.

I'll answer what I can as I'm not real familiar with the 401.

1) It is the usual size of a 510 unless you get a Mega Battery.

2) The atties will work with any 510. The batts work with most chargers but the charger that comes with the disposable does not work with other batteries.

3) The draw will change a little bit after the auto switch starts to gunk up :) The 510's run hotter and produce more vapor than some of the other e-cigs so the draw is lighter at times..

4) There's usually no whistle, maybe a little air leakage in the one you have.. Someone told me that they like 901 carts in the 510 better but I've never tried.

5) Throat hit, depends on a few things.. The e-liquid, the heat of the 510 atty, the mg of the e-liq.. 510's tend to kill flavor a little bit..

I ordered 2 disposable kits, one regular and one menthol. I smoke from time to time, but my wife is a regular smoker, even though we stopped smoking in the house a couple of years ago. I figured the cold outside (and in our garage) might be a good incentive to convince my wife to switch to a PV. My wife likes being able to 'smoke' in the house now, so she may be on her way to switching completely.

After two weeks both 510's are still going strong, she leaves hers laying around and only charges the batteries. Hasn't cleaned the atomizer or even removed the cart except to add more liquid. I know this is going to catch up with her eventually, but I've been checking hers to see if the flavor is still good and it doesn't have a burnt taste (yet?). I take the cartridge off my atty at night and rinse it as well as doing a dry burn by blowing through the LED end of the battery with the cart removed. Probably too much maintenance at this point, I'll probably just let it ride and if the flavor changes I'll throw it in a 'sonic' jewelry cleaner with a splash of Everclear. We have 7 atomizers between the 510 disposables and the 510 mega kit, so we should be set for a long time to come.

The first two kits we received came with three cartridges of "HIGH" nic Menthol or 24MG USA Mix. My wife liked the USA mix flavor and the menthol wasn't bad. However, I think the nicotine was too high for both of us just starting out.

I ordered a 3 pack of the disposables and a 510 mega kit over the weekend. The 3 disposable kits I received today are marked 18MG USA MIX on the box and the cartridges are labeled as 'Med' on the wrapper. Again 3 loaded cartridges plus the blank already on the atomizer. The site advertises 2 24mg carts, so 3 18mg carts is a bonus (I think). I'd rather have medium strength carts for myself or for anyone I might give these away to.

I would not do a dry burn every night, they are great for cleaning really nasty stuff, but they don't exactly prolong the life of the atty. Overheating things usually does not.
Just blow them out, and you will be fine. Make sure you put the cart back on or drip a drop of liquid into the atty after either dry burning or blowing out, atties don't like to be very dry for too long.

Over 4 months on a rotation of 3 atomizers now. I dry burn each about every 5-6 days as they rotate through an in-use/standby/cleaning cycle. In over 4 months, none have failed and they all work as new.

All of mine are kept dry, no problem. Between the stand-by atomizer and the one being cleaned, I always have one or two that are completely dry sitting in my "ashtray."

Aside from personal experience (which I do NOT discount as valid nor count as necessarily valid) why not keep a dry atomizer around? Unless in use the nichrome coil doesn't need to be wet, the nickel foam doesn't care, and a clean, dry wick is glass fiber so doesn't require being kept wet. I'm only talking about a 510 atomizer, I have no idea regarding the construction of other types.

maybe I am doing something wrong, I have just gone thru my 2nd of 5 of these kits, and both of my attys are still going but the battery that came with them charged 3 times for one and 4 times for the second one. Now they glow and everything but doesnt produce vapor, I changed out attys and bats and its not the attys, they work with other batteries, but the disposable battery wont work anymore. I did put the first one in my regular 510 charger and the second one in my pcc, do you think that kills it quicker? Everyone else seems to be having great luck with these things.
