Does anyone else have a problem with juice leaking out where the cart and atty connect?

It's really driving me nuts. I can clean everything off, take a few puffs, and it's already starting to creep it's way back out.

I won't even get started on how useless the carts actually are. Seems like dripping is mandatory with this thing if your not keen on acrid burning metallic tastes.

I don't have a whistling problem.

Just checked my atty - it has 2 holes.
My Joye 510 has 2 holes, my disposable has 1 hole.

trennels
I have 4 of these things and 2 of them do that. No idea why.
How many holes? are they all the same?

btw, I just plugged my battery into a USB to recharge it, and my computer shut down 8-o

They can leak there, but usually do not. Two things make them leak: Too much juice and cold. A cart that is perfectly well filled at room temperature can leak slightly when you go out and it's freezing. That is not much, though.

What this sounds like to me is plainly too much juice. The 510 will keep heating the juice, and eventually, it will vapprizee enough of it for normal function, but it is not exactly at its best when thoroughly overfilled. Mind you, in my first weeks I became an expert an cleaning atties that were flooded, so you are hardly alone with that problem. (BTW, the crappy taste may be liquid in your mouth, too. Also quite likely related.)

  • Remove the cart, hold a paper towel in front of it and blow (not too hard) from the mouth end. You will probably see liquid (actually mostly water with some liquid) come out at the sides. Wipe it off.
  • Remove the atty from the battery and clean out the connection. Then blow through the battery end of the atty to remove excess liquid. Press that paper towel into the other end while you do it, there will be a surprising amount of liquid in it.
  • Put the cart back in and you should have a much better vaping experience, without dripping.
It took me a while to get the rate of carts I overfill even below half. You can, if it's not too bad, also vape away the excess liquid in the atty, with an empty cart or none at all. (Careful if you try the later!) And in time, the rate of overfilled carts will sink to managable levels.
Besides, it's not particularly difficult to clean them if you overfill. I'd know, I caused myself to become an expert in it :D

Alex,

This is happening with an empty cart (no filling), a clean dry atty, and after only dripping a few drops of liquid.

I'm not getting juice in my mouth, it's leaking out where the atty and cart connect together.

I've been messing with this all morning. It looks like it's a cart design flaw. The cart has two raised lines where it inserts into the atty that help keep it firmly seated. The problem is, since the whole cart bottom isn't firmly pressing against the inside of the atty, the juice has a way to leak out.

Maybe I will post a few pics if it's hard to understand what I mean.

I think I know what you mean - but then, the cart is not supposed to create a seal in the first place. If it is not an overfilled cart, then you simply dripped too much juice into the atty. (It's the reason I don't drip. Filling carts is - to me - considerably easier and far less likely to flood the atty.)
The other possibility is of course that something of your hardware is actually broken. I don't discount that possibility at all, since you would need a considerable amount of juice when you drip for juice to start to come out between atty and cart. It should not even be anywhere near there. Usually, when you flood an atty while dripping, the juice will come out at the battery end of the atty, not the top. A plain matter of gravity.

Something is profoundly wrong there. And it's not a general design error of the 510, that is for sure. The slight leak at freezing temperatures is (but even that is a general problem with metal and plastic), but a few drops and liquid comes out between cart and atty is definitely not.

I'm not over-dripping, that's for sure. This isn't my first e-cig, just my first 510. I've never had a problem like this with any other device. It's really frustrating; I hate getting juice on my hands constantly.

It's not gravity causing too much juice too leak. It's like the juice is "wicking" up the inside wall of the atty.

I don't know; I have another one that I haven't opened yet. I'm trying to decide whether I should open it and see if it does the same thing, or just sell/trade it for M401 parts.

Has anyone else noticed a plastic taste from these? I have two disposable 510s with the the squared whistle-style tip and they both have a subtle plastic taste.
I've been trying these out for a couple of weeks and I keep running back to my M401s. The 510s put out decent vapor but not the throat hit I get from my 401s. If these work pretty much like a regular 510, I guess I'm sticking with my M-series.

I have a 510 kit and I've purchaced 3 of the disposables thus far. I have noticed the leaking problem with the carts that come with the disposables. Using the carts from my 510 it doesn't leak. Also, lining the cart up properly with the atty bridge helps a LOT but I'd imagine only the 510 users know about this.

OK, so I opened my other disposable; it leaks too.

This is what I did.....

First, I toked on the new atty with the empty cart until I got that nasty dry atty taste (to make sure it really was dry). Then, I dripped 2 drops of juice and replaced the cart. After a few puffs the liquid started to appear at the atty/cart connection. When I took the cart off, the bottom of it was covered in liquid.

So anyway, not too thrilled. I'm wondering since I drip, if it would be worth buying one of those machined brass mouth pieces from supertmanufacturing.com.

Yeah, I have a bunch of those, but I don't like the way the silicone feels.

The plastic cart cap fits snuggly.....
