510.... Doing something wrong?

I purchased a 510 about a month ago, and I have had troubles with it ever since.
The vapor is weak, and the draw is airy like sucking through a straw. There is a slight throat hit if I suck till im about to pass out.
I have read great reviews on this site about the 510 but have yet to experience anything good about it at all.
Any suggestions as to how to get this thing up to par?
I'm thinking of retiring it and using it as my emergency vape.... But it just seems like such a waste when I read such great things about them on the forum.....

My first guess would be the atty. Have you cleaned your atomizer at all?

Mine came that way too. If you can pack the filler in the cartridge a little tighter the draw will get harder. I really like the blue foam plugs; easy to adjust the draw by how much and how tight the foam is packed.

I have one 510 atty that's like that too. I've blown it out, got it wet, dripped, pounded, tied it to my bumper and drove down the street and nothing.

Hey Beecee, I thought it may have been the atomizer but, I tried another one with the same result. (Mind you I did get them both at the same time)
Also my battery (which is manual) has about a 5 secong cut off. It seems that when I'm about to start getting some good vapor, the battery cuts.
I have found a way to "trick" it by pressing and releasing the button, but still......
I wanna experience the full 510. lol

Have you tried dripping on the atty. I don't use the batting at all.

Welcome to the forum Dubsy! As the others said before, trying cleaning the atty or perhaps this is just a bad apple in the bunch. I would certainly clean this one but get another atty in the meantime. Secondly, I would mod the cart with either the blue foam, fluval or PTB. That poly filling that they come with is just horrible. TH comes directly proportionate to the nic mg and the more VG the juice has, the more vapor. Currently I use 18mg, with either 65/35 PG/VG or straight VG juice. I get an excellent Th and vapor with my 510. No problems. There are some excellent vendors here, see Sponsoring Suppliers and also look at the ejuice review subforum. Good Luck and don't give up!

There are a number of reputable vendors on this site, but being as I live in Canada, I don't really have access to them as most of them ship to the states only.
I bought my 510 through a family member who started vaping a couple months ago and suggested it.
I love it, but have been having major issues.
I have a "super cigarette" (I believe it is called the 801 or "vapor king") which was working great but as of recently has been giving me problems.
The 510 which has never worked for me at all, and an m602 which I have found to be the most reliable as far as vapor, flavor etc.

Rip off of a MODEL 510. Please keep in mind a 510 is the model and alot of companies have a 510 model are you meaning it isn't a joye 510 there is a very high chance that it isn't a Njoy/joye tech model.
There is air holes around where ya screw in your battery, 1, 2, or 4. Make sure your not covering them. if you hold it like most people do with a real cig you will hold about were you feel the filter starts so you know when to kill it if your not paying attn, I and a lot of my friends do/did that with ours.
If your covering ya will not get any air and it will draw like a milkshake.
Try to hold the ecig at the light for a puff or 2.
Still having issues then it could be the battery or a way over packed cart.

Thanks pb but it's actually the opposite problem that I'm having. I have tried it with one of my cousins joye batteries which had no cut off, (a legit joye) and it seemed to work better as far as vapor production, although I still had an extremely airy draw.

I have had good luck with the 510 I have four of them and two are different than the first two the ones I got from Cignot are the real deal the onces I ordered from China are the oddball ones with a washer in the atty.

However, I have noticed that all of them will have drop offs in vapor at times. A low battery or a lightly filled cart will produce much less of a hit or vapor. Also it depends a great deal on the liquid I am using with the higher nic liquid giving the biggest hits and the VG producing more vapor and less TH.

For me the most consistant hits come from keeping the batteries well charged and using a dripping/topping off technique with a high nic 60/40 vg/pg mix. I keep all four going with different flavors and charge the batteries when the vapor starts to drop off.

Taelor - blue foam, fluval and PTB are used as substitute filler materials for your cartridges. Blue foam/fluval are purchased at your local PetSmart in the fish department. Shouldn't if you are buying from a proper supplier - the OP got his/hers second hand off a relative from what I can gather.
I have 2 sets (no-box from Cignot) and they've been fine.
If there were an issue of any sort I'm pretty confident I could get it sorted out in short order without any fuss from the gals at cignot

Well then it looks like you had a bad battery. I am just wanting to point out to everyone here you can have a 510 from about 20 to 30 different manufactors Most of them are good but even with the njoy/joye tech stuff there still is a chance of bad batteries/ doa
