I have a Joye 510 and I love it.

So I thought if I got a eGo-T, it will be just like a 510, but bigger.

I just received my eGo. I like the huge battery, I like the huge juice tank cartridge. However, it has NO throat hit!! It produces lots of vapor, but I can't feel anything. I am using the same liquid, and 510 tastes great, but on the eGo I don't taste anything... feels like I'm just sucking empty water vapor.

What's wrong?

yep alot of talk of the no flavor thing. seems like sometimes i get and other times not. never had a problem with throat hit though. in my frustration with the no flavor problem i went ahead and ordered a mini reo and a map tank mod for my ego. with the mini i will get 6ml of tank and with the map i should get around 5ml. i get tired of having to drip or keep refilling. with this setup i should be good to go for about a couple of days. guess i will see when i get them in the next couple of days.

I'm getting as much TH with the EGO-T but it's a different flavor for me. I just used cartomizers previously, which I was pretty happy with and the boge cartomizer held a lot.

The best way I can describe it is a 'cooler' almost fresher taste. Since I smoke menthol, that's not such a bad thing. It's not the in your face flavor I was getting with the carto, but I also don't get the juice in the mouth thing that I sometimes got with the carto, or the need to really pull when the carto got a little older.

... not sure what's wrong with it.. Make sure you push the tank cartridge all the way into the atomizer, it might need a strong push to get all the way in...

My Tank works great. All flavors taste great a lot of TH. One atomizer needed a bath after only day of use, but has been working fine every since. If you're not gettin ANY TH than clean out your atty & let it dry, or send the atty's in for replacement.

You can also DD into the atomizer to 'prime' it after cleaning.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've been sucking on the Ego for a couple of hours now, and the TH / flavor is getting slightly better than before (although still nowhere near as good as the 510) ... btw Isaac yes i do have the cartridge all the way in.

I'll keep chugging at it and see if it improves any more. Also I'll try cleaning the atty tomorrow. (any tips about how to do that would be appreciated :))

P.S. I got both the Ego and 510 from FreedomsmokesUSA.

That's taken from TW's forum.

I have poor vapor production; what's up with that?

1. Make sure your battery has a charge. Swap them out and clean the connections. (I haven't had many problems with this, as I noticed the Tornado batteries hold a more thorough charge and dies off the last 2-3 draws before you get the OMG PUT ME ON THE CHARGER blinks.)

2. Make sure your tank has juice in it. Sometimes the wick will hold the flavor and be pretty close to dry without actually having a burnt taste, resulting in poor vapor production.

3. Check your atomizer to make sure it's actually working. ie: you hear the cracking noise that it's working, and it gets warm.

4. Try a different e-liquid. Sometimes tanks have problems with VG being too thick. Try a different mix with less VG and see if it wicks better. (I will also talk about this in part 2.)

5. Check to make sure your tank is properly inserted. If it's not pushed the whole way down, the juice wont wick properly effectively causing vapor issues.

6. Blow out the atomizer, prime it up and try again.

7. If all else fails, clean your atomizer. Running really hot water through it ought to work, boiling hot hot will work.Blow it out, put it on a paper towel and dry it. You can use a hair drier as well. If that's no good, try it again, but clean it with alcohol first ie vodka, everclear, or isopropyl alcohol (isopropyl alcohol isn't good to inhale, so make sure you run enough warm/hot water to rinse it out well).

Eww. What's that taste?

1. Again, check to see if the tank is empty. If it is, fill it, prime the atomizer, and puff a couple times. It'll go away.

2. Check to make sure the tank is properly inserted. As well as poor vapor production, it can burn your atomizer up if no liquid is getting there.

3. Check your e-liquid. Too much VG or Green Cow can be difficult to wick, but It is possible to make them wick better by thinning it out with PG (See below for other ways).

4. Make sure the atomizer is snug on the battery. I did an experiment to explain my findings after the rest of this I will tell what I have found.

Oh no! It's leaking everywhere!

1. Make sure the cap on the tank is not torn or deformed in any way. This can cause you to spring a leak. Also try a new Tank.

2. Clean the atomizer. The wick can become saturated and then the eliquid supersaturates it and it just rolls right off and into the cup filling up the metal mesh, which is like a sponge and will begin to leak after its full. Blow it out. Try to dry it with a paper towel and let it dry completely. If it doesn't work, try #7 in the first section.

-- There are many different ways of cleaning your atty. A search will yield many results. There is really no right or wrong IMO.

ok I used my Ego for the past 2 days and it definitely improved -- I didn't know atomizers need to be "Broken in" lol. I am definitely getting more TH and flavor now, whereas when I first got it there was none.

Now the Ego is performing at an acceptable level and I will be keeping it... even though my 510 is still better when it comes to TH and flavor. The huge juice tank and battery on the Ego are quite nice :D

A few things I have learned that work for me:

It helps to line up the cart/tank with the atty which usually provides a better draw and hit.

Depending on the e-liq you are using, the carts/tanks also clog so they do need a cleaning every once in a while (especially if you leave e-liq in them- dried or thickened e-liq can build up and limit the vapor flow.

Lastly, I changed my vaping a bit in that I push the button a second before taking a hit, then take a few short, quick draws (much like stoking a pipe), then do my usual longer draw. Helps a lot. Maybe some of these will help you too.

Best of luck.

IIRC, the eGo-T battery is the same as a regular eGo, which is 510 compatible, so try putting your favorite 510 atty+cart or carto on the eGo and see if you like that better. It might just be that you simply prefer the effect of that atomization method over the tank's atomizer (standard Joye 510 attys are known for good TH, due in part to a slightly lower than typical resistance).
