After about 9 months of using my 801 pen style I've decided to go for an 510 type e-cig, this decision based mostly in the fond hope that this type of atomiser will be more reliable than the run of the mill penstyle atomisers.

What I need to know is if anyone on the UK forum has experience of the 510, and from which supplier.

For the last 6 months I've been buying most of my 801 supplies from David Yang (Eastmall), with few complaints and I'll probably buy the initial starter kit from him, but I'd be interested to hear whether people consider TECC or any other UK supplier (or chinese supplier, for that matter) to offer a better product/service.

Cheers :thumb:

We are very lucky in the UK in having a lot of good suppliers, offering good customer service.

All of the ones offering the 510/Titan/DuraC are good, and I have dealt with all.

So its really down to your own personal choice.

Prices vary, but so do warranties.

Obviously the bonus of buying in the UK is waiting time.

I've just bought a load of stuff fron ruyan direct/heavensgift, 2x30ml of 24g e juice, 1x510 atty (black) 1x510 manual batt (black), 2xdse901 atty's (1 black, 1 silver) and 2xdse901 batts (1 black, 1 silver) so 3 complete e cigs and 60ml of juice for £50 including postage, took 5 days to come from China, spot on service and it all works fine, none of the uk online retailers can match those prices. Having said that it was my first order but I don't think it will be my last. If you are only buying one thing the postage may be a bit pricey but for a sizeable order it's worth it. 30ml of e juice here would be about £40. Hope this helps.

Electric Warrior I dont know where you got that price for juice in the UK... its no where near that price...lol

And can I just say I bought a 'Titan' from TECC back in March this year, and the atomiser is still going strong, and so is the battery... Ok I dont use it all day long any more, but I do use it every evening for about 30 mins.

There are no guarantees, an atomiser may last an hour it may last a heck of a lot longer.

But its good to know that replacements can arrive at your door the following day if you need them.

Thanks for all your advice and comments, I've looked at all the suggestions and bitten the bullet by ordering all items from David Yang (eastmall), total cost inc p&p came to £98............

items ordered are:

1 x 510 manual starter kit (included are 2 manual batteries, 2 atomisers, plus the usual charger etc.)

plus:
3 x spare atomisers
1 x extra battery
10 x extra carts
1 x PCC
100 ml (5 x 20ml) of 18mg Menthol liquid

I'll let you know when it all arrives - probably about a week or so........

Thanks again

Forgot to add Barry that I've found that with the 510 atomiser when it works well it's great, however that tends not to last too long before the throat hit goes "'soft'. Never used an 801 but I've found that the 901 atty's are more consistent and give better flavour than the 510's although they are sometimes a harder draw.

Sorry Christena meant 60ml would cost about £40, my 510 atty's have all been from TW and they have all gone 'soft' between 3 days and 2 weeks after first use and I've been through a few, hope ruyan direct are a bit better but I think it may just be the nature of the beast, they seem to operate at a higher temperature therefore may be prone to early death. It maybe because I use them too heavily.

From Ruyan Direct tonight,

510 2 manual starter kit
5x spare atty
1x extra bat
2x PCC
50x refillable carts

£95 inc the fastest shipping <3 china

Not really much in it between DY & Ryun direct really - and I chose DY as I've built up a few discount points with him, there's also an element of 'better the devil you know..........'

I've more or less decided that, in the future, I will be treating the atomisers as throw away items - with TECC selling them at around a fiver each I'll be quite happy to be buying 5 a month instead of trying to make 'em last as long as possible by cleaning them every few days, I can never get them back to original performance anyway and I've tried just about every cleaning method there is.

I've also found that the actual cartridges have an enormous effect on the performance of the atomiser - and NONE of the cartridges I've ever bought, from any source, are consistent in the way that the liquid is delivered to the atomiser, at the moment I'm trying some cartridges that I've re-packed myself using fluval - I'm using the first 'diy' one now and it definitely seems to show an improvement - BUT, I'd much sooner find a cartridge that works for me, straight out of the box, so to speak.

The package from Eastmall arrived early yesterday (Thursday 9/7/09) - 5 days including the weekend - pretty good service from Shenzen, I'd say.

First impressions of the 510?

Negatives:
1. The cartridges go dry very quickly and only take about 3 drops to re-fill.
2. Battery capacity is very low and only last for 2/3 hours of heavy vaping.

Positives:
1. The whole package is very elegant and worked well straight out of the box.

2. The design of the atomiser appears to be much more efficient than the 801 atomisers I'm used to.

3. The round, mouth piece design is such that any excess liquid or condensation is trapped inside the mouth piece, so no nasty mouth fulls of liquid.

4. The PCC works very well and re-charges a fully depleted battery in just over an hour.

5. The Blue led flashes repeatedly when the battery drops below the threshold voltage, right up until this point the battery continues to give a very satisfactory vapeing performance.

Overall I'd say that I'm very satisfied with the 510 and it seems to vape as well as my modded 801's (battery mods, using 2 protected li-ions in parallel which last about 2 days per charge)

It remains to be seen if the atomisers are more durable than the old 801's..........

I think I'm gonna get pretty fed up with changing the battery every couple of hours, that can be fixed with a mod tho' - the only real gripe is the capacity of the carts -maybe someone will bring out a bigger one soon?

Maybe do a more comprehensive revue in a week or so if anyone's interested?

1. Yeah, if you've got tweezers then you can pull out the filling and get more in. I turn my round every now and then because I find they don't "wick" very well.

2. Agreed. I've got 4 in rotation so I've got enough for the morning, through work and so there's one free whilst the others are charging when I get home on two chargers.

3. The round, mouth piece design is such that any excess liquid or condensation is trapped inside the mouth piece, so no nasty mouth fulls of liquid.

I pop the end off every now and then with a paper clip, because fluid does accumulate in there. An earbud or paper towel dries it out nicely.

I can't compare, but other models I've used last about 14 days. I'm almost up to a month on my first 510 atomiser.

I'm considering a USB passthrough at home, and a PPC for on the move. But I don't like the idea of having to assemble it before each use.

Maybe do a more comprehensive revue in a week or so if anyone's interested?

Definitely!

This is where the PCC comes into its own. If you start the day with a fully charged PCC then you only need one battery with you! Just vape when you feel the urge and pop your battery and atomiser back in the PCC when you're done. The PCC then keeps your battery charged. Fabulous device, and absolutely essential for the 510 IMO.

Garry Dibley on the TW forum made it for me - I think he is planning to sell them...

If he decides to sell them a heads up would be nice, since i don't use the TW forum. Tell me something what do you think the advantages are of using a 510 atty on it, because well the SD works pretty great as it is. So i'm just curious, as to what kind of performance is expected while using a 510 atty on it?
