i found a good and bad thing about these royal smoker e2's last night.

the bad thing is the black wrap on the outside is simply glued vinyl material and it peels

good thing is it comes off easy, i took a bit of lighter fluid (all i had laying around) to it with a paper towel and it cleans up nice. turns into a nice shiny silver atty which looks great on my silver ego with a blue drip tip...

Oh VM I'm sorry, if I had known you needed a needle and syringe I would have sent one with the cartos!! I have extra syringes and 22g needles I'll send out a couple tomorrow. Also you can pull the inner cap out and drip down the side. And this is what I use, they work great.
3 pack Precision Oiler - Needle Tip Oiler Bottle 1/2 oz - eBay (item 350355144936 end time Aug-14-10 14:51:05 PDT)

I just stick the needle of the bottle in the fill hole and squeeze until it starts to come up the second hole. Much less hassle then a needle and syringe and easier to get.

Happy vaping!!!

WWay, please, there is no need to send me a syringe. I'm very thankful for the cartos. Finding a way to fill it is part of the fun :)

Ah... that needle tip bottle gizmo looks like a good tool... I'm gonna make a shopping trip this after noon in that direction! Between the HW store, the gun store and the arts-n-craft store... i bet i can find something like that :)

And if that bears no fruit... there's always amazon/ebay!

Just a noop update, I still haven't filled a carto... they look at me like I'm a drug addict when I ask about syringes at the drug store... kinda pisses me off honestly... the joys of living in a metropolitan area i suppose.

Try asking for a Small Oral Syringe at your drug store.

They don't have a needle tip so you might less glares. ;)

Ok... found a metal bottle tip at the arts-n-crafts store (see pic)... and finally got some liquid in this thing now. It's been soaking in for about 5 or 10 minutes. Just took a couple small toots off it on the Mini-VapeStack with a fully charged AWICR16430 batt.

Yup, this thing works all right! Its similar to using a LR atty. I find myself pulsing the switch with this one. I have to give it some more time to observe the wicking characteristics, but so far every time I've hit it, I've gotten a good short powerful hit.

Mine makes a whistling sound when hitting it :)

I'm not using the top silicon plug that came with the carto because it smells uber chemically. Instead I've put on a softcap from an KR808 cart. That softcap doesn't go as deep or press up against the fill holes, so I'm being careful to keep it upright for now.

So far so good!

Thank you again WWay!

Just replaced the softcap with a full length derlin driptip. That was a nice upgrade. The whistling is gone and the extra distance between the coil and my tongue is appreciated. Although I think a short length driptip would be best of all (don't have one of those yet).

I wish I could put this on my Chameleon because I like the draw of its 510 fitting more than the Mini-VapeStack's.

It's only been a matter of minutes, but I'm very pleased with how well this carto is working so far, clean flavor and clouds of vapor out of my Octane liquid. I think they're really onto something with this design.

Just refilled it for the first time. I'm not sure how empty it was, had gotten a little drier, but now it's topped off.

The metal-tip I have (pictured a couple of posts up) works, but its a little messy after the refill. I've rinsed it in water after both uses so far. Out in the wild, I guess I might try just wiping it down with a tissue if water wasn't readily available.

The CE2 2.5 ohm Super-Tanker XL with a short-drip-tip is probably in my future. I gotta get some that fit on the Chameleon, maybe the 808D fittings will work better than the 510 fittings on that device?

the XL is 3.0 ohm not 2.5, so it will be a tad cooler.

How do you wash these. I have refilled it all day but now it is tasting a little burnt. I'd lie to see if I can get rid of the burnt taste.

empty out any juice, flick out the juice, rinse it out under hot water then place it in a cup of very hot water, let it soak 5 to 10 minutes then wash it in warm water to clean it out, blow out and flick out any water and dry it off with paper towels.

you can immediatly place it on a deive and then dry burn for 20 seconds at a time till the coil turns orange, when it does then do that a few more times until the coil turns back to normal.

then add juice and enjoy.

I found this video on Youtube today: YouTube - ‪Royal Smoker E2.wmv‬‎
It shows pretty nastily burned fiber. Is that a known problem that has been addressed?

Because otherwise I am very pleasantly surprised by those things; I always disliked cartos because of the burned filling issue, but that is not all that much of a problem with those, possibly not one at all, since well, non-burning wicking fibers are obviously easily available, they are after all inside every 510 atty.
And as cartos never really caught on in Germany because of that problem, I am considering organizing a co-op, but obviously, I'd like to get at least a release candidate, not an early beta, so to speak.

And those XLs: Are they in any other way than size different from the ordinary ones?

Is there any way to tell what revision of carto the guy in the video is reviewing?

He should have taken a lighter to the "wick". If it is silica rope (which is what I suspect) then it won't actually "burn". It will discolor, and perhaps even "char" a little bit, but it won't burn. The black patches on this wick may be just liquid residue.. the part that won't vape-away.

Not trying to split hairs. But what is the difference between “Char” and “Burning”. Aren’t they both as a Thermal / Chemical Redox?
