How long should I let it charge before I use it?
Once the light on the charger turns green it is ready to go.

I think I was told by the supplier 8 hours. does that sound right?
Nope, it is completely wrong.
That is bogus information leftover from Ni-Cd battery days.

I'm sure this ahs been asked before... I just got my new 510 in the mail today and its charging..... I am really wanting to get on this thing. How long should I let it charge before I use it? I think I was told by the supplier 8 hours. does that sound right?

Charging lithium-ion batteries

Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days. The charge time of most chargers is about 3 hours.
Battery U is the go to place for info about batteries

yeah that sweird because I just read the instructions and it also stated that the first charge should be for 8 hours. Do they all say this or just the old ones? Could this point to the idea that I have bought new... an older model ?????
Most of the instructions say that.

Most of the parts come from a few manufacturers in China.
So most of the instructions manuals are the same, or at least similar.
