I have a pretty new 510 from nocig.com.

I noticed that once in a while when picking it up from a table top that there will be a bead of liquid running down the entire length of the unit, leaving a line on the table when I pick it up...

This is not right after filling - often times its when the cart is actually fairly low.

Anyone else know of this problem and/or a way around it?

Oh yes, been there.

You could have too much poly fill in it. Usually if you fill up a cart right you should be able to turn it upside down and not feel like everything is about to fall/drip out. 510 attys are just inherently kinda leaky, it seems. There are a couple of ways you can avoid this. One, disconnect the atty from the rest of your e-cig and place it in a small plastic bag. While this won't stop it from leaking, it will avoid liquid getting all over your PV and contents of your pocket. Two, try to only fill your cart or if you end up liking dripping, as many have, your atty, with more liquid than you know you will be vaping at that time.

Quite a few people remove the filler from inside the cartridge and just direct drip right onto the atomizer. Say, 2 or 3 (start with two)drops whenever you'd like to vape. This will give you about 6-10 puffs, 10 (roughly..) equalling a cig. When finished, there will be just a little juice left over in the atty.

Hope that helps.. Problems like that are what converted me to dripping in the first place. Getting a real drip tip with a taut O-ring connection to the atty eliminates that juncture as a leakage source. I might occasionally get a bit of leak at the battery/atty connection, maybe as a result of heat buildup? But not too often or too bad.

Another thing: Do not cover the small hole on the end of the cart that goes in your mouth when pushing the cart into the atty. The most natural way to do it is to put your thumb over that end and press on it like a retractable ink pen. Don't do that. It creates an air-tight seal, and any liquid in the bottom of the atty is forced out through the air holes, just like a leak.

Very helpful - can you steer me toward an explanation of the drip tip idea? Ive heard about this but had some conflicting info on the subject and found myself confused.

My drip tips never ever leak unless the whole e-cig is upside down.

If you don't want (IMO) nasty plastic (delrin) that tends to melt when you vape, I would suggest going to Madvapes.com and ordering one of their "anodized drip tips". The only problem is that they're usually ALWAYS out of stock of the good colors (black, silver) and only have those weird colors that no one really can use (orange, purple etc)

But if you want a REALLY NICE quality drip tip, I would definitely suggest going to SuperTmanufacturing.com and order one of their stainless steel funneled drip tips. They are absolutely amazing. I just ordered my first one. The way they are made it makes it so the juice always drips right on to the center of the atty. But they run from 10-20 dollars which is a drag. But on the bright side I believe they give you a lifetime warranty. You'll never need another drip tip again.

If you're short on cash, though, you can always get one of the cheap plastic Delrin drip tips. Some vendors sell them for as low as $1.25. But I would definitely get a few drip tips just to at least try it out. I guarantee you will never go back to using cartriges again.

Came up with a quick fix to the 510 atty/cart leaking problem. I took the condom off of a dead cart, cut the end off of it (which leaves me with a nice silicone ring about 1/4 inch wide), and slipped it on my 510 atty. When I install a new cart, I just slip the condom down so it covers the joint, and no more leaks.
now thats a good idea... offically stolen... lol..
