Just wondering, what do most people prefer for their 510...the manual switch battery?...or the Automatic battery?

Personally I prefer the automatic. I have found that I love the convenience of not having to hold the button all the time. I'm one of those people with horrible bite marks on my carts because I always keep it in my mouth while my hands are doing something. And I like to just be able to puff on it whenever I feel like it. I had heard a lot of people say that the vape & throat hit are usually a little better on the manual switch batteries...but I really can't tell the difference.

My biggest problem with the manual switch batteries is that the switch seems to keep getting stuck or something. I'll be vaping, and then all of the sudden I'll get a bad burning sensation on my finger because the switch is stuck & the atomizer is getting VERY hot. It gets so hot that one time I felt the pain from the heat, and I dropped it right away. It really gets so hot that you can't touch it. It has melted my cartridges. Is this a common problem?..and if so, does anyone know any tips/tricks to remedy the problem?

The same thing happened to my wife with a 510 Mega battery, and it was a manual! The LED went off but the atty kept on burning. Ended up melting that cart. The atty still hits wonderfully tho. I still use that battery. After every time I use the PV, I will unscrew the battery one turn before I set it down... so if it does malfunction it wont destroy anything else.

I've had two manual batteries that had that problem - and those came in a set with non-Joye-atties, so I think it is safe to assume they were non-Joye, as well. With all others, a sticky button never has been a problem so far.

I also have an auto for my 510, and let's just be polite and say it's fairly sensitive. In fact, it occasionally lights up when I just open the box I keep my spare batteries in. Nice when riding my bike, though. OTOH, I have a cigar, too, which is auto, and there everything works perfectly fine.

Keeping the PV between my teeth is something I also do very often. I still don't mind pushing the button, though.

This happens with both Joye and non-Joye 510 batteries. Sometimes the circuit just doesn't close. I've also had this happen to me with Auto batteries. The best thing to do is listen for the sizzling sound of the atomizer before putting your 510 away, in your pocket, what have you.

I am new new to 510 manual bats but in one week it appears I have burned up 2 attys thanks to quirks of a manual bat. The first time I had sat the ecig down after taking a vape so I didn't hear a sizzle or know to look for this problem. The LED went out, the button didn't stick (visually) It killed a 2 day old atty. It just happened again with a different manual bat on a new atty. I pray I haven't totally killed this atty but it tastes pretty bad!

If someone has a suggestion for saving my 510 from melting other than holding my ecig to my ear after every vape - please let me know. This is turning into a very expensive problem.

On a related note WHERE can I find more 510 AUTOS? I noticed there seems to be almost no automatic bats for sale - I checked on several vendor websites that sell 510 stuff. Does anyone know if they not going to make autos any longer - or what?

Luv,

There are a couple other ways to tell if your switch is stuck on your battery. But they have to be habits that you get into...

1) In between drags, be sure to hold your PV at the atty. This way, if it IS stuck, when it really starts to heat up, you'll know it. If it is heating up, simply tap the switch again & that usually disengages it, and you are ok.

2) When you are finished and want to put your PV down, just take one last puff WITHOUT depressing the manual switch. If it is still generating vapor (acting like an auto battery), then the switch is stuck. Again...just tap the switch and it should disengage.

Hope this helps...
