first of all, thanks for what i hope to be all the good info i got on this forum--- havn't recieved my package yet, just trusting y'all! ....anyway, after a bunch of research on this site, i have ordered a 510 starter kit from east mall, a pcc, five empty carts, and two bottle of liquid from amazon.com (vanilla ice cream and tenessee cured) .......so, i'm stoked, and just made these orders today, so i probably have at least a week before i can try this out-----the 510 kit from east mall comes with 'marlboro' cartridges, and it looks like from the reviews and my sweet tooth, the vanilla and tenessee liquids should be good for me.....so.........i'm clueless-----i gather i'll smoke the prefilled carts first, but move to the liquids soon after..........please reassure me that i'm going to be happy and maybe even get rid of my pack a day habit..........as far as filling cartridges etc, is it pretty much common sense or is it a big 'ole science project that i'm gonna screw up until i figure it out?? how soon should i order new atomizers and batteries---the kit comes with two of each......also, i gather (though the site does not specify) that my 510 kit does not have the pretty colored led light at the end----forgive me for being clueless in advance, but is that part part of the battery or a seperate part?? like----could i order another one with a pretty light at the bottom for cheap like a battery or is that a whole 'nother kit purchase?? sorry for any dumb questions, i just ordered everything today and don't know exactly what i'm talking about yet, just eager!! .....thanks for any dumb noob advice you can give me knowing what i have coming to me in the mail :)

I had no idea there was e-juice on Amazon. I see it now, though. It's JC juices...

Learn something new every day.

Welcome to ECG treble -- good luck with your new PV!

The light on the end... I pretty much ignore (can't really see it anyway). I have some with lights and some without. I tend to use the ones with NO light more often.

I'm still using my original two atomizers and batteries for my 510, so I would guess you have a few weeks before you have to start adding to your collection. I didn't wait though... 3 days into this, and I had more orders placed.

I have a 510, and here's how I fill a dry cartridge (filler in place, of course). 8-10 drops of eLiquid on the filler itself (use a toothpick to sort of jiggle the filler stuff if the liquid starts pooling on the top), then place 2 drops on the atomizer itself. There is a break-in period (to get rid of the primer smell/taste)... maybe 6 puffs... it varies. Then, I top up (add 2-3 drops on filler, and 1 on atty) when I feel like it's getting weak.

That's about all there is to it. It's pretty easy, but does take a little time to adjust.

Also -- yes you can buy additional batteries -- just look around different Supplier's websites. Some have the lights, some don't. There are also two types of batteries for the 510: Automatic and manual. The manual battery has a little button you push as you take a drag on the PV. It may sound bothersome, but most 510 users prefer that. IMHO, it gives much better draw and flavor that way, and I think it keeps the battery from dying out as fast.

Also also, there is a USB Passthrough available. It's a battery that attaches to your PC or other USB source, and though you're tethered to it, you don't have to worry about recharging a battery as often. It works like the manual battery (has a button).

Also also also, there is a PCC available. It's about the size of a pack of cigs, and can store and charge your PV (good for on-the-go). It uses batteries... I think rechargeable batteries? I don't have a PCC, so I can't tell you that much about them.

wow, y'all are quick with the responses!! ......ok, so the led thing is part of the battery, which means whatever new batteries i buy, it's up to me if it has a led or not, right?? i think that's what you meant....so basically----there is no really 'permanent' part of the 510 that you always keep?? every part is interchangable with other 510 parts, and the batteries and atomizers eventually die and have to be replaced?????? as for the pcc, i know my club hopping musician self, so i ordered a pcc with the kit so i can have the extra battery with me at all times and one always charging if i'm out all night ;) .....and yes, you can get the johnson's creek liquids on amazon, and from what i heard, you get them shipped faster than if you order them from johnson's website directly ;) ---- told you i did my research! ......also, i heard that liquid has caused problems for some, but it also looks like they might have solved their problems----oh, and i had a 40 dollar credit at amazon, so what the hell :)

Right, it's up to you to chose whichever replacement parts you want, LED lights or not... colors or no colors, etc. I have 510 parts from a few different suppliers, all interchangeable. Specifically, I have a JOYE510, but as long as it's a 510, you should be good.

Correct about no "permanent" part to the 510. It's basically three parts: the cartridge, the atomizer, and the battery. Mix and match as much as you want. You can have a black cart, with a blue atty, on top of a white battery if you want.... it's all up to you. Colors are a little tough to find, but they're out there.

Sounds like you have a good, solid setup coming to you. You have certainly done your research :)
