As a total n00b on vaping I looked around and I think the 510 is the right model for me, so I ordered one. I'm a little confused about the different 510 models though. The one I ordered is called the "cylon" and is apparently accordning to the seller "the best 510/Yeti version yet".

The one I'm getting (hopefully tomorrow) is the 510 "Cylon" from electronicstix.com (not allowed to post urls yet)

Now I've got a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me answer.

1. Is this a 510 that people all over forums etc. are talking about? Are the different 510 models basically the same, but the resellers give them different names? I've seen it called "Yeti" and "(TECC) Titan". Are they the same? I have to know which model I have to buy spare parts.

2. What will I do when the prefilled cartridges runs out? Can I buy some e-liquid and refill the spent cartridges, or do I have to buy special refillable cartridges?

I have the Joye 510. Yes, you can/should order juice and refill carts as needed. Get some extra carts too. The filler won't last forever. If it was me, I would be ordering the juice now. The pre-filled carts don't last long at all and usually don't taste all that great to begin with.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum and happy vaping!

Odd,
They look the same to me other than the color. I hope you got the manual battery. I have a purple 510, white Titan and some black 510 batteries, the same product, different name and the parts are interchangeable. Get some extra carts and refill them with flavors you like. Shop around and save $$$. Welcome and enjoy your vaping!

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package today and noticed two bottles of "Niquid" that I forgot I had ordered. :)

About the batteries, I've read recommendations that says to charge them 12 hours on the first charge, is that correct? That would mean the indicator on the charger is rather useless because it went from red to green in about 30 minutes. I'm just concerned about overcharging. Is it possible to overcharge the batteries, thereby reducing their performance?

Oddish--

I've bought all my 510 equipment from Jason...he is terrific. The "Cylon" is just his name for the 510 unit that comes with the stainless steel look rather than standard black. They also have red LED's.

Yes, as long as it's a 510 part it will work with the equipment you bought. The other names are just what you said...other names. As long as it's 510 stuff, you can have a stainless battery, a black atomizer and a white cart if you want to...or any combination like that.

You can refill the carts that came with your kit for awhile, but after a few days you will either need to rinse the stuffing in hot water, let it dry and re-stuff the cart OR purchase "blank" carts (they just have the stuffing material, no juice) and fill them up with the juice you bought OR buy the stuffing material and reuse the plastic part of the cartridge and "stuff your own".

These are lithium ion batteries. No "memory" like in NiCads. Once the light on the charger goes green the battery is charged. In fact, once the light is green the charger stops giving the battery any power at all. Good choice on Electro-Nix_Stix :)
