510 passthru

I just got a 510 passthru. I noticed a hole in it like in my automatic battery. My manual batteries are sealed. Question is does it make a difference?.its not performing well like the manual batteries.

It can get gummed up if you drip. you can put a dab of sealant over the hole, that will help.
