Ok, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about this so I'm wondering if its just me. I've had my 510 for a few days now and over all I'm quite happy with it, But I've noticed something odd whenever I refill my carts. The vapor production goes WAY down for the first dozen hits or so (sometimes more, sometimes less), I can still taste the flavor (mmmm, peach) and still get some TH from it, but almost no vapor at all and it doesn't matter if I refill with 7-8 drops or 10-12, PT or fully charged batt. My atty doesn't show signs of being flooded at all, and I'm using ptb for what its worth.

More annoyance than true problem as the vapor does pick back up, I'm just curious as to possible reasons for this.

Thanks in advance!

It's possible you are overfilling and flooding the atty. If there is a pool of liquid at the top of the cart, too much liquid could wick into the atty, which prevents it from getting as hot -> less vapor production. Once you take a few hits, the atty starts to warm up / dry out and self regulate, and the vapor production goes back to normal.

Note to self: the atty does have to sound flooded to actually be flooded.

Just took my cart off, wiped the threads and gave is a blow out, back to normal. It's always sounded flooded before, gurgling noises and so on....oh well, guess you learn something new every day. I'll have to work on fillinf a little better next time.

Thank you!

If you flood the atty, you get lower vapor production, and there is a greater tendency for "gunk" to build up on the element, which can shorten its useful life. The "gurgle" isn't as bad as no gurgle, since it means that the atty is heating up enough to boil the liquid. The ideal sound, from my experience, is a long slow steady "hiss", which means sufficient liquid is getting to the atty to create lots of vapor, but it is heating evenly, not in fits and spurts.
