510 Threading

Hey people,

Having an issue with the 510 connection threading with some cartos/attys on my Bolt. My Smoktech DCT cartos (1.7 and higher ohm) screw onto it just fine, but the three 1.5ohm Smoktech cartos make me think I'm gonna strip the threading if I try to get them all the way in.. One of my two 510-808 adapters screws on just fine. I got five cartos from IkenVape, and three of them screw on fine. I've got an HH357 that screws on, but it's awfully snug.

Is this normal? I'm leaning towards an issue with the Bolt because I have some cheapo ($8) 510 250mah batteries that everything screws on to just fine. I was thinking about upgrading to a VV device anyway, is this my Bolt's way of telling me that it's time? Does anyone make a stealth-ish 510-510 adapter that would help this?

Hey gait, had an issue similar to yours where my 510 cartos weren't threading fully in. Found out a small piece of an atty or carto had broken off in the whole. I fixed it with a small size needle nose pliers wrapped with electrical tape wrapped at the end (don't want to damage the threads.) insert pliers end and with a small bit of outward pressure you should be able to remove the offending piece. It took me a couple of tries. Not sure if this is your,problem, but I hope it might help

Thanks Infinitejest, but no, there's nothing in the connector. It's definitely some sort of threading mis-match issue. A few of the cartos start off easy to screw then tighten up to the point that I can't screw them any further before they're all the way in.

I had the same issue, but perhaps. You could have a different problem. Maybe head over to either the veterans forum or. Manufacturers forum for some advice.

Most probable cause:
There may be a small speck of something embedded in the threads of the Bolt
You may not even be able to see it, it doesn't take much
Try cleaning the threads the best you can
