picked up 510 to cartomizer adapter and some cartos from Altsmoke

no air flow.
I had to make the holes bigger. Its actually the silicone rubber ring surrounding the center post thats blocking the air flow.

Got an adapter and a pack of cartomizers here, too. I think the top of my head collapsed trying to draw through it. Sucking up a Mickey D shake is easier. :D

What are these holes bigger and silicone rubber ring of which you speak? I got SOME air relief by unscrewing the carto slightly, but that's no way to run a railroad.

Uh, oh... these are the same as the KR808-D cartomizers? I've got 2 adaptors. A 510->901 adapter and a 510->801 adapter. I'm using the 510->901 adapter for the KR808-D cartomizers (just trying them today) and it's working fine. Seems like a great draw. About the same as my 510s...

I'm using the right adapter right? The KR808-D cartomizers have the little vent holes right there at the threads just like the 510s.

[edit] double checked on the site... this is the right adapter. You guys using different cartomizers?

I had to make the holes bigger. Its actually the silicone rubber ring surrounding the center post thats blocking the air flow.

Mine worked really well for 4 days with the first adapter, then no air flow. Switched to second adapter, no air flow.

Cleaned adapters as directed, no airflow.

Soaked in efferdent overnight, helped, but not enough.

I think you're right about it being the internal o-ring.

Bad batch of adapters??

I'm going to try to modify the adapters, can't hurt.

I'm going to try a different adapter, hopefully not from the same batch. It was SO pleasant to start with.

Tried the hard cap 510 cartomizers, didn't think much of them. Sorry Rob. Sorry, jmo, others might love them.

If you or Chad have any ideas, we would surely appreciate the help.

Anybody find a fix for this? Flyer, grink, keyzygirl?

Thanks,
Night

Careful modifying that silicon in the adaptors. I believe that's what insulates the positive from the negative. You don't want anything in the center to be able to touch anything around the outside.

Thanks Quick1,

That is info I needed.

It was the internal silicon ring that was keeping the adapters from letting enough air through.

I worked on both adapters with nothing but a safety pin, and have them both working fine now! :D:D:D

I just pulled them away from the inside by both air holes, then perforated them from the top a few times all the way around. Then incerted the pin from the outside of the air holes and above the ring. I pressed it down numerous times, being careful not to break it, until it stays below the holes with a clear sight picture threw both holes.

I can now hold my finger over either end, blow threw the other end, and air passes freeley out the small air holes.

Cleaned everything up, put an adapter in place, hooked up my V4L cartomizer..............and majic.;)

Guys, I really hope this helps you out......I'm back to vaping heaven again.

I really think we just ran into a bad batch of adapters.

Make sure you follow Quick1's advice and don't reshape them enough that they won't insulate.

Vaping on, with a smile,

Night
