510 to Ego adapters

I have a question about 510 to Ego adapters. I have a Lava Tube V1.5 and when I use the 510 to Ego adapter the oHms are all over the place. I E-Mailed the vender I got the LT from because I thought it was the lava tube but when I connect a ce3 2.4 - 2.6 oHms clearomizer without the 510 connector the ohms read 2.3 to 2.4 with the adapter on it's around 2.9. When I put the the adapter on with a stardust 2.1 - 2.4 clearomizer and check the ohms I get a different reading from 3.0 to 6.0 ohms. Is the adapter shorting out the clearomizer or is it the LT. I E-Mailed the vendor and told them it was the adapter so I am not returning the LT I hope that's not a mistake. So is it Possible for the adapter to short out the clearomizer ?

It's very possible for an adapter not to fit any battery or cartos exactly.
Another possibility is screwing down the adapter or carto too tightly, this can cause shorts also.

It's in the diameter of the center post on the adapter and on the battery or on the carto, some are just a touch larger or smaller and don't make a perfect connection. Too large and it can hit the outside threads, and it can be the connector on any of the three pieces, battery, carto, adapter.
