I have a USB Passthrough for my 510. I think I bought it from Totally Wicked (it has a lil' devil sticker on it... so I think that's TW, right?).

Anyway, sometimes I use it while tethered to my PC. Other times, while connected to a USB wall outlet. I also have a tendency to forget where it's connected.

So this evening, I decide to use the Passthrough while charging a battery. I was happily vaping away for about 1/2 hour when I realized my PT isn't connected to anything.

I'm still vaping on it, and getting good vapor.

Now that I think about it logically (these dohickeys don't come with any instructions) -- it does have a battery, so I realize that's where the power is coming from. But before tonight, I just assumed it wouldn't work unless it was connected to something.

It's nice to know that, in a pinch, I can use the PT and NOT be tethered to my PC or a wall outlet.

The little blue battery that you install when setting up the PT actually keeps a pretty good charge. An excellent alternative if you lack a fresh battery, as long as you don't mind lugging around the whole set with you of course.

So if I understand this correctly, some of the PT's have batteries and some don't? Just curious because I want to buy one for my 510
Yeah, I've seen some without the battery while surfing around various sites. Mine has one, and as far as performance goes, I'd highly recommend it. I got mine from e-smokey treats because that's where I purchased most of my initial accessories, but you can get them from lots of other places too.

Depends on what you're looking for..you will get a bit more of a hit from the non-battery ones.

The battery passthrus put out what a "regular" battery gives you, around 4V .

The non-battery passthrus will give you constant USB voltage..in my case 4.7-4.8V.

The 510's put out such good vapor anyways though, so I have found it is still better. I have had 3 different e-cigs, and like the 510 the best so far.

I too have used it as my backup as the battery in the PT is bigger (lost my PCC).
