Just to start out, I'll give a bit of background. I've been using a Titan 510 for nearly 3 months now. At first it was OK. I was using the prefilled cartridges and was basically trying to simulate smoking as much as possible. After a couple of weeks and a lot of experimenting I'm finally getting the hang of it, but there's still a lot that I don't like. So far I've purchased a PCC, two extended batteries, a USB pass-through and a five pack of atomizers. That's not counting the cartridges (blank and prefilled).

Now on to the beefs I have.

The carts are a pain to get right. I've used the PTB mod and tried using Fluval filters as well. Either way, if the PTB or the filter isn't exactly right I'll either have the cart dumping too much fluid and flooding the atomizer or not feeding enough fluid and drying out way too quickly. A lot of trial and error that I'm getting a little fed up with.

This thing seems to eat batteries. At work I'm OK swapping the two short batteries out of the PCC at each break, but at home I have to keep juggling the four batteries to keep something going. Which leads me to my next gripe.

The pass-through absolutely sucks. The button, well, let's just say it pretty much works when it wants to and has never "dragged" like the batteries do. I've tried loosening the atomizer a little (since it seems to be threaded a bit longer than the batteries), tightening it extra, etc; to get it to drag right. The button is a lost cause. Angles, hard, lightly, it doesn't matter, the thing has a mind of its own.

The final problem, even when everything is working as expected, the 510 devours juice. I can get by with the 4 carts at work; one in the cig and three in the PCC; but God forbid I have to work over.

All that being said, I don't hate the 510. If the pass-through worked a little better I wouldn't be as irritated. I've been reading about the Vapor King here though, and it seems to be more of what I want. I like being able to mix my own juice (especially since I vape 60mg juice) and was worried about that with the Vapor King, but I see vapor4life has added empty cartomizers, so that shouldn't be an issue. Now on to some of my questions.

With what I don't like about the 510 does the Vapor King sound like a good replacement?

How many times can you refill the cartomizers before they should be tossed? Is it until they die or like 2-3 times? Are they difficult to refill?

What's the battery life like?

How long does a full cartomizer last?

Does the pass-through work as expected?

Should I have any concerns about cartomizers leaking?

I think that's most of my questions. I would appreciate any input you guys might have. I like the idea of using cartomizers a few times and tossing them. No cleaning atomizers or restuffing carts. I just want to make sure the Vapor King will improve my experience before I spend any more money. If it looks like it won't, I'll probably go for the mega-charger and a better pass-through.

I had all the same problems with the 510. The carts just suck on the 510 imho with that said now I drip all the time while at home with my 510 and love it. I just got a KR808D-1 VK and while it is descent it dose not produce the vapor my 510 dose.
The VK is easy on the run and the refilling tricks do work but I am a vapor lover I like Vapor more then throat hit and IMHO the VK is a little lacking in that departement sometimes. I get the light on the end blinking all the time trying to get a amount of vapor I enjoy. I did refill with VG and that defenantly helped but still I feel like I have to pull on that thing for a hour to get a good cloud of vapor. With all that said I have not had any problem with carts leaking and it is easy on the run during the day while working etc. But whan given the choice I drip my 510 at night. Just my .02 probably not worth much.

If you already have a collection of 510 batteries and chargers, what you might want to do before you invest a lot of money into VK stuff is just try out the cartomizers and see if you like them.

You can get a cartomizer adapter for your 510 batteries from Altsmoke.com. Then you can get some cartomizers from V4L, NHaler, or one of the other KR808D-1 vendors. And then just give it a try. If you like the flavor, vapor, and convenience of the cartomizers... then you can invest on the rest of the hardware at your leisure.

The battery issues could be fixed with a mod. The VP2 or nicostick etc. etc.

If you got a 510 version you'd only be replacing the batteries. This won't help with the carts of course.

As far as I know more vapor = more juice as the vapor has to come from something. I would expect a device with less vapor would use less juice.

This may not be true if its a matter of mixture. (air and fluid)

Have you tried a new atomizer? Most of the issue you've described I've had. A new atomizer has cleared these issues up for me.

If my atomizer no more than 2-4 weeks old the cart filler won't matter much. It pretty much just works without leaking. Once they wear they'll wick and vaporize at different rates. They'll either flood and leak, or fail to wick.

My batteries last longer on new atomizers as well. Old atomizers require more button pressing and longer drags. On brand new atomizers I take very short drags (more like a cigarette).

Here's a link to the adapter ScottBee mentioned:
AltSmoke Battery Adapters - Adapters - PV Parts
To order this adapter, take notice of the 2 pulldown menus on the right hand side where you choose the battery you have and what you're trying to connect to.

I've been using it on my 510 Little Chuck with Vapor4Life's cartomizers and it works great.

As for refilling carto's, I haven't hit a limit on it yet. I have some I've refilled 10 times already. The trick is to not wait until you taste the burnt taste that indicates fried filler/cart. Check out the Vapor4Life supplier subforum here for a good video on how to refill the carto's.

You can't beat them for convenience and consistency...screw it onto the battery and vape until the flavor drops, then screw on another. Want to change tastes? Bring a bunch of cartos and swap away--they don't leak and you don't need to refill on the go or carry bottles of juice to work. I refill when I pile up a bunch of empty cartos, maybe once a week or so.

How long they last is going to depend on how much you vape. For me, I've dropped to about 5 - 6 puffs an hour at work, then just set it down. At night I'm using my USB passthrough on the computer with lower nic carto's. So my carto duration can go as long as 2 or 3 days. However, if the flavor is just too good (and the nic is low enough) I can probably vape through one in a day, and I've certainly read of people going through 2 - 3 carto's a day heavy vaping...as always, your mileage may vary.

I've been vaping with my Vapor King for nearly 5 weeks and I've only tossed one cartomizer so far. I just keep refilling them and they work fine. I've heard estimates on refill capabilities ranging from 3-15+ times.

A full cartomizer can last all day, depending upon how you vape. I tend to use several at once (different flavors), so I can't give you a real answer.

The pass-through works just fine, but it works better on medium to lower nic levels (24mg or less), in my experience. At 36mg, the throat hit is very harsh. For some flavors, this works great. For others, you sacrifice flavor for throat hit. It really depends upon your own preference.

I don't think that cartomizers leak at all, if I'm understanding your question. If you overfill them you'll get nic juice in your mouth (very unpleasant) but I think that's true of all e-cig models. There's no way they can leak if you have the little plastic plug in place when you're not using them.

I love my Vapor King. It doesn't have the problems that I read about for other models. The only thing that may not measure up in comparison to your model is vapor. The VK has great flavor and throat hit but not great volumes of vapor, even with the passthrough. What I do is add a few drops of VG when I refill, which pumps up the vapor.

Hope this helps.
