510D vs. KR808D Cartomizers

Can someone compare the 510D vs. KR808D Cartomizers for me? Which is better, how much juice they hold, times re-usable, vapor and throat hit, etc. Since the 510 to KR808 adapter is available, I thought I would inquire.

Also, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the hard tip 510D vs. soft tip? Thanks.

I prefer the 510 cartos since my batts are 510 and no need for an adapter that adds length. And I don't care for the flavors and the 'underflavor' of many of the KR8 cartos. So I usually get blanks and fill them myself. I haven't looked into the KR8's recently but unless something has changed, finding the ohm rating is a lot easier with the 510's - most vendors display it in all the blurbs - that wasn't the case with the KR8 - although we knew that the 'premium' soft tips burned hotter there wasn't any ohm rating stated. That may have changed since I stopped shopping for KR8 cartos.

The difference between the 510 hard and soft tips is the same as with the KR8's except even the hard tips on the 510 aren't glued in - or at least the ones I've tried lately - almost all pop off easily for refilling or for using drip tips. The new Joye 510 cartomizer is too small in diameter to use the regular drip tips. Don't know if anyone has made any that size yet.

Vapor, flavor and throat hit are all tied to wattage so knowing your battery's volts and the ohm rating on the cartomizer is crucial for finding the 'sweetspot' for those factors. Flavor can be enhanced or subdued by heat/ohms so don't dismiss a flavor on just one cartomizer. Try a different ohm'd cartomizer before writing off any flavor. Usualy the stronger flavors like the heat (lower ohms) and the lighter flavor like the higher ohm'd cartos - 2.8 and above.

I'll just add an alternative point of view on the preference. Although I love the penstyle atomizer (e.g., DSE801, Joye302) more than any brand of cartomizer, I think the Kr8 battery is excellent: It is 280 mAh (to the 510's 180 mAh) and a true 3.7V (to the 510's 3.2V). And the newer, premium cartos are quite good (as good as you or the supplier puts in them) with vapor production rivaling the 510 atty.

However, since you already have the 510 and the eGO, the 510 cartos (and, especially, Mega eGO cartos) probably make most sense for you. The juice capacity of those eGO cartos far exceeds either the 510 or Kr8 cartomizers.
