5v box mod issue

I am guessing that my 5v regulator, but wanted to ask anyway in case there is something I am missing. I built a 5v box, madvapes parts, I used the 5v 3amp ldo regulator, I used a cap just for the hell of it and an led. It worked totally fine for a day and 1/2 then it sopped. Now if i turn the master power off it will fire an atty sometimes bu only enough for 1 hit. But almost all of the time it will flash the led for like 1/2 a sec and thats it and wont do anything unless I flip the master switch and then again just flash the led again. I took the momentary switch out and did direct power and same thing, so switch is not the issue. Any Ideas? I am guessing reg. went bad but seems odd. Thanks

Could be your cap is fried. Stupid question, have you tried a different battery?

Ps you may want to post this in the modders forum, you will get alot more responses there from very knowledgeable people.

update, I removed board with the cap and resistors and led, and it works great. I soldered right to the regulator, switch and led.
