5V box overheating

I used a 510 HV & regular on it and both do the same thing. Hubby (who is working on it & made other mods) has checked it out and nothing funky going on. Heat sink is the next option. If that fails, it's got to be a bad regulator.
Keeping fingers crossed the next two aren't going to do the same thing.

I would like to a comment from a MadVapes representative!

The regulators actually do have overheat protection and will shutdown if too hot.. There's a spec sheet in the product description but can't remember the temp they shutdown at.. Do you happen to have a wiring diagram of how the device is being wired?

I know a lot of questions but the regulators getting hot is not a common problem with them because of the intermittent use..
