5v pass through, not much difference???

So I'm pretty new to vaping, but I just got my second order in

Got a 5v 510 pass through from madvapes with it. I was all excited to try 5v after reading about how some people swear by high voltages, but I'm not noticing a difference?!

I mean I get a nice consistent hit like a fresh charged 510 battery every time, but it seems no better than a fresh normal 510 battery, which I've ready runs at more like 3v....

I am I missing something??

did you also order the AC-USB & car-USB 2 amp adapters? If your passthrough is being powered by a source that outputs less than 2 amps, you will not be vaping at 5 volts. It's likely to be something like 3-3.5 volts when plugged into an inadequate power source.

Nope, didnt get the AC-USB adapter... DOH! They should make it a package deal... I just found a relevant thread:

Ok, so update: My Iphone world travel kit adapter (usb) says it outputs 2.3A, is this too much? Should I be worried?

Well, I tried it and nothing blew up... but there was lots and lots of vapor!

If anyone knows, should be worried about using 2.3a? Will I fry atties quickly or something?

I am using a 3 amp power supply with no problems. The pass through will only draw what it needs. The amperage listed is the maximum that the unit can deliver.

Someone posted before that they use a USB port to plug into the wall because they were concerned with plugging into their PC. I think those are like $15 at a store and have a zillion USB plugs for all of your electronic toys...

And i have read like 483 billion pages on this forum and I never knew you need an adapter on a PT to get to 5V.
