5V USB Passthrough Adapter Question

Hello-

Couple of quick questions from a newbie. Purchased a 5V USB passthrough from ElectronicStix Home Page. I did not understand the 2 amp requirements to achieve a 5V vape at the time I purchased. I have since tried using a 10W Apple iPad USB charger. It vapes, but I don't have a volt meter and I am not certain if this adapter is sufficient.

Does anyone know if this iPad charger is outputting 5V at 2 amps? I see a 2 amp USB adapter on Welcome to MadVapes LLC. Do I pull the trigger on this adapter or is what I have already fine?

Look at the specs on the charger and do the math. Uou can use an online ohms law calculator to figure it out for you. Ohm's Law Calculator is a good one. I would suspect that it is putting out 2 amps though...

As for the madvapes adapter, I would go ahead and get it. that way you can use the ipad charger for its intended use.

The output amperage should be listed on your charger somewhere. Usually just below the AC prongs or on the back. The wattage output sounds about right. for a 2.5 ohm atty I wouldn't go below that with it or it might stress it to much, which you wouldn't want to do at 5v anyway. If you can't find the amperage output spec for your charger I'd go ahead and get the one from madvapes. Probably a good idea anyway
