The madvapes cartos you suggested tasted burned to me at 5V. I've got two packs of them, maybe I should try a couple more before throwing in the towel.

My experience with 5V was that 510s and 901s on average popped very quickly (some lasted a week or so but some popped as soon as I hit the switch). Cartos (808s) lasted as long as I could use them but that was only a couple of days at most before the burnt taste was just to much. I tried 801s and to me they are perfect. They last on average over a month and hold a lot of juice. No burnt taste on the ones from valuevaper. I am sure there are cartos out there that will work, but the 801 with a drip tip allows me to keep the wick wet and any carto that you don't mod will rely on wicking to supply the liquid and they just weren't designed to supply enough liquid for 5V operation.
I've had no problem running any 3.2Ω cartos on my 5V passthru. I think the Genuine Joye 510 Cartos vape on it best though.
I've found a relationship between the amount and tightness of the filler and the burnt taste in cartos. Ikenvape has been having their V2 cartos made with a looser filler and a denser material for the tube that is around the coil. The taste you get from these are amazing and they hold more juice and wick better. The IKV Gold V2 510 is my current favorite and is awesome on my 5V GLV2. Their 801 fusion is just as good. Can't tell them apart in the dark, really.
