I wouldn't give up on 5v only after a couple days......

Ya have to FEED that sucker, and the only way I've managed to do it on my GLV5v 510 was to use the blue foam cart mod with the straw well insert.

Works like a charm for me, and although my 3.7v Protege does a pretty good job, I much prefer the 5v now that I've managed to balance my DIY juice to meet the demand of the higher voltage/heat.

VapeOn,
Greg

cybevex boxmod with 510 atty...i'm gonna try 901 atty on it tonight with an 510 to 901 connector
usb box mod? didn't realize he made em with 5v yet...
just tried 901 and its waaaaayyyy better...i've been having alot of trouble with my 510 atties and a bad taste.....blue foam in all carts.....maybe i have to switch to 901 on all ecigs
everyone either likes only one or the other, few enjoy both it seems...maybe u just need new atty, or something else...anyways, i'll avoid going off topic anymore...hungry anyways, c u later...

Remember guys, its Watts that make the vape not Volts....

The 510 is a low resistance atty, so at 5 volts its simply flows more juice than the 901 at the same voltage, hence the burnt taste with the 510 vs the 901.

510 at 5 volts = 10 watts
901 at 6 volts = 9.7 watts ;)

(Going from memory that the 510 is 2.5ish ohm and the 901 is 3.7ish ohms)

510 on 5v has been good to me except when the atty is clogged or dirty then its pretty bad.usally when i get the burnt taste its time to drip some more juice onto it.5.2 v @1.6A i just cut the cord on my xm radio ac adapter and wired a joye 510 batt conector to a piece of pipe and wired a momentary switch to it.plug it in the wall and vape away.inverter in the work van FTW!

Farm, you should make those plug in PT's and sell them..

From what I've seen Canadian vapers are a lot different from American vapers. American's want something that could be as big as a 20 gallon steel drum if it puts out 120 volts LOL Forget the flavor, as long as it puts out more vape than the fog machine at the dance club ;)

Canadian's seem to prefer small size, and at a strength that still put out good flavor. Sounds it your plug-in PT would be well suited to that.

lol.reason i like the plug in one is that its more versatile than a usb cord.every comp has a power bar and im sure people have more access to a plug in rather than a usb port.take my dad for instance he likes the idea but is comp ilerate.and im also in my shop quite a bit,so i found the plug in one works best for me.also you can put a atty connection and switch in pretty much anything.

maybe u should try a usb-ac adapter with usb pt's to use at any wall plug or power bar as well as the standard usb option...though i have not tried any PT's, so whatever...:)
