5V's --- How do I get it?

OK. Feeling like a pinhead.

I have an Silver Bullet and have been using the usual Ultrafire 18650 3.7v battery with it, but I have been reading these forums and seeing how much everyone loves the 5v vape. So, what batteries do I use to get there? Or, is there more to it than just batteries?

Knowing how it is to go unanswered -- I'll pitch in

In that I don't have an SB, and am not sure if electronics are incorporated in them, I will assume that it is a standard "tube" that accepts an 18650 with a standard throughput switch and standard body resistance. With that -the closest one can get to a 5v vape with a device such as this, WITHOUT electronics, is to use 2 - CR123A 3.6v Batts and a 5.2 ohm atty (or 2 3.0v batts and a 4.5 ohm atty) That will give you between 8 and 12 watt outputs through the operation range of the batteries -- 10 Watts being the medium and what many consider "the ultimate"

If electronics ARE incorporated in the SB -- disregard all that I say here -- Or -- oppt to begin modding OR seek a good straight through voltage passthrough (I think a 901 PT will do that). You might also keep closely tuned to the Nhaler forum -- seems fantastic things are being created over there (That is where one might also get the atties mentioned above)

I would elborate further on all the options out there -- BUT --- that's what this forum is about -- Keep on reading and (hopefully) happily vaping --

I really can't say for sure, but I don't think there are 'electronics' in the SB, and Survivor is right, the only thing close to 5volt with the SB is to use the HV atty and 6+ volt batts (2x3.0 or 3.2 volt batts that is). For me, the 5 volt is done with a BB and it's Passthru, and I love it. I also have a GLV that should be at 5volts, but sure seems 'hotter' than that to me, so I also use the HV attys on that as well. Hope that helps!

As a passing thought --You might want to also contact your vendor to pose the question. The batteries mentioned are a bit slimmer and about 3mm longer end to end. You may want to sleeve them to prevent rattling around and you may also be cramming something in there that the unit was not designed to handle.

Thanks to both of you! I had just about given up on this posting but checked it on a whim today. Yes, no electronics in the SB. I am going to check out the NHaler forum as suggested.
