I been on the ecigs for I think 6 weeks and not had the urge for a real cig even when I smell the smoke! Started off with
Smokester's penstyle and then moved onto his 901 and then his black 901 and they are great! The high nic for me too hits the thoat much harder than low nic especially menthol.

Hi Tribalmasters:

That's great that you have not had an urge for a real cig. That is how I felt too once I made the change. In fact, I couldn't even get that throat kick at all from my real cigs regardles of how deeply and how long I dragged. I love my e-cigs too.

I just ordered the DSE901 from PureSmoker and am looking forward to giving it a try. The only reason why I held off so long is because unless the battery life has changed, I had heard the batteries don't last very long. But then again, everyone has differing opinions from brand to brand an even from unit to unit within the same brand.

I wish you luck on your continued succes, TribalMasters!

Also, who is Smokester? I'm a little behind on my reading in this forum due to having back surgery and getting really, really behind at work. I am catching up big-time now, though. Nice meeting you!

It is not as important to me as it is to a lot of other, I think (the throat-kick). But having that said... most in holland find that nicotine only has a minor role in having a kick yes or no... other factors seem to weigh in more heavily. Like for instance the powerpuff I keep telling people to try, that are looking for that 'kick'... even the 0 mg of that gives quite a kick... too much for me in fact... Partypuff also has a kick (slightly softer but there). And reading reviews, I have come across more 0 or 6 mg that was reported to have a very decent kick (but can't reproduce which ones right now).

Smokester is at Electronic Cigarette | Free Yourself... | e-cigs Welcome hes a really nice guy and will help you with anything!

Its true the batteries on the 901 don't last very long , I get about 2 hours heavy use before they stop making as much vapour but as long as you have a few spare charged ones hanging around, all is good!

just a comment about the nicotine strengh.. its not whats in the cart its what would be in 1 ml of the liquid.. based on the fact thats what a pen style or classic holds.. its where the scale came from..

so a mini with only .5 ml will only have half the mg strength it says on the carts.. a classic will be accurate but only if the impossible is done and the cart fully emptied.. they never are..

i drip just under 2 ml per day of 24 mg liquid.. for me thats 48 mg per day..

i think my tolerance levels have gone up.. it would take over a dozen .25 ml 16 mg super mini carts per day to do this.. he he

trog

Hi Trog:

I guess that sort of makes sense to me, but I am not good with mg and ml. To me, the 16 mg strength shouldn't change regardless if it's only a drop or a full milliliter/dropperful. Volume can change but strength can't, in my humble opinion.

I am no math wizard, obviously! So thank you for your take on what these nicotine strengths mean. I just hope I'm not taking in too much to where I am causing harm to my body.

Okay. I'll bite. Where can I get the powerpuff and the Partypuff? I am OCD like that. Gotta try them all. And thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for the link, Tribalmasters. And two hours isn't that bad since it is a smaller battery than the pen-style. But I also heard that because they need to be charged so often, they reach end of life a lot sooner than other batteries. If the replacement cost for the batteries aren't that expensive, I suppose my concern is pretty much moot.

Devilfish, your figures are ALL WRONG. Terribly wrong. The nicotine content is per ml. YOU ARE NOT GETTING MORE NICOTINE FROM E-SMOKING. EVER. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Do not think again about that idea. It is less nicotine and none of the 4,000 other chemicals in cigarette smoke.

You should love a Janty. The best.

i think the throat kick comes more from the amount of vapour inhaled than the nicotine content of the liquid..

i know it.. but some folks who havnt tried a whole bunch of different ones might not.. the vapour these things can produce can vary by a factor of ten..

a good smoke producer when fully inhaled will kick your throat.. a poor one will have no effect whatsoever no matter what liquid is put in it..

a new e smoker needs the advice of an experienced one.. if only for one reason.. is the device being used any good or isnt it.. a lot are useless right from the word go.. none work at their best unless the cart is wet and a new and the battery fresh off charge..

one simple way to find the devices "best" is take battery fresh off charge.. remove the cart and drip two or three drops straight onto the atomizer.. dont put the cart back.. take few puffs and see what vapour u get.. a good device should produce clouds of thick white vapour.. if all u get is thin blue-ish wisps the device is no good..

they (the old striped ones) used to run for around four hours when new.. the newer matt finish ones my son has only manage 2.5 when new..

the run time will rapidly get shorter and the battery will need replaceing.. they wear out because they are being abused.. a 150 mah battery being ask to deliver a few hundred burst of nearly one amp and going thru several charge/discharge cycles every day wont live long..

each time the battery is cycled its next run time is slightly less.. rechargeable batteries wear out.. used properly they wear out slowly.. when totally abused like our e cig ones are they wear out very quickly..

i know a bunch of none tech savvy people dont want to know all this cr-p.. but they do need to know it.. we are becoming more and more dependent on things powered by batteries.. learning some basic facts about the things should be required knowledge..

Hi Trog:

Yeah, my sister vapes nothing but zero-nic, and we both vape Sedansas and Janty Classics for the most part. She doesn't inhale. She is into the flavor more than anything and purchases oils from all of the major suppliers. I just can't seem to get a kick out of any of her flavors and/or makes. Probably because I use the highest nic carts and have become desensitized to the point that in order to get the throat kick, the carts have to have at least low nic in them.

I suppose as I work my way down sometime in the future (no plans for it yet), I will be able to better discern the feel and taste of the lower-nic carts and oils. For now, I enjoy the high I'm getting from the high-nics.

Hi Trog:

I appreciate the education on batteries. It's very important to me, as the consumer, to understand the components of my e-cigs. Thank you.

Trog is right the battery life really does drop and quick too! My first batteries I got 6 weeks ago don't last half as long! Luckily, batteries are reasonable price and smokester even replaced one where the green LED stopped working!!

Oh, my. Then I'd better stock up. I purchased mine from PureSmoker.com, which does business in my state of California. Replacement battery is $14.99, and shipping is free for orders $99 and above. Just ordered mine yesterday.

When I need new batteries I just buy a new set, like 2 batteries with the added bonus of another atomiser, charger and some cartridges too!

There you go! If I like the DSE901 that much, I might just do the same thing. We'll see, though. Because the DSE901 might not be good for me since I'm a chain-vaper. But since I hear it has so much vapor, I like that idea too.

Might be a stupid question, but when you guys mention 2 or 2.5 hours, is this total continuous runtime ? I usually smoke about 15 five seconds puff each time (like one ordinary cigarette), and this maybe every 2 hours. So should the battery last for about (120 min / 15 * 5 secs) 96 cigs ? My experience is so far that it is much less, more around 8 or so (= 10 minutes continuous) after which a fresh battery makes a huge difference again ...

(sorry for throwing in this question which isn't really related to the subject of the thread...)
