I have been vaping 6 Volts using both a GG-Grant and GG transformer for about 3 months. When I was running the grant I was going through a cartomizer stage, but that wore of quickly ( didn't like the issues with carts at 6 volt.. mainly taste started to bother me )

I have gone from carto's.. to 801 HV.. and BE112's. I really like the flavor of the 801 HV.. *IF* it's hitting well. My problems are outlined below. With all my experiences.. I DRIP.. 3 drops.. hit it until flavor changes.. and re-drip.

This is no knock on the re-seller.. just what I have found.

LiteCig HV 801 - These were ok IF you get a good one... taste was good.. but they didn't last long ( maybe a week if I was really lucky. Had one DOA, and and another produce vapor the was barely noticeable.. vapor drops off quickly.. and started to taste funky)

ImeoAtty 901 6V- Lasted only two days and fried. Too expensive for me to really want to tray again. 901 is a hassle.. leaks often.. always a mess and juice coming out of the side.

BE112 from Puresmoker - These hit great.. but they do heat up and burn the juice if you lay on the button too long.. I have to "pump" the button to get a decent drawl without burning the flavor. It seems to me that vapor and taste drop off a few days of use. I don't know why. Maybe I need to clean it somehow.. I blow them out if it gets flooded.. but doesn't seem to go back to that smooth.. dry hit. Maybe the juice gets burned in there.. ruining future drags after a few days worth of hitting it????

What I am trying to figure out.. is what is a good next step? I can't imagine that all of these versions I am getting are not that good.. or.. maybe I a wrong? Is there something better? Is there a good way to clean these things to make them perform better? I have tried rinsing a couple older attys in alcohol and they don't vape right the next day. I hear people say they are getting 2-3 weeks out of atty's.. I just don't get it. Mine don't taste well after a few days.. any suggestions?

I just know what it's like to be in vape heaven. WHen you take a drag.. the flavor is good.. not burned.. and there is no "Gurgling" noise in the atty.. just a nice DRY vape.. without a burned taste. I feel Like I struggle to get consistency and I spend too much time trying to get that nice hit again. Does anyone else feel the way I do? Any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks a lot for reading this long winded post.

I have had about the same experience with HV attys that you have design, That's why I have gone back to 3.7 and 5v vaping.. Attys at 6v don't last long for me. All of the issues you have stated is my experience also.. I have tried them all with little success..

I find a good lr 510 or reg 510 at 3.7 gives me the best experience.

My set-up is a GGTS, HV 901 from VK, SS Super T Tip. I find the most success with that set-up. It does leak though not as bad as a 510. I set it up with a LR 901 from AltSmoke and got almost 2 weeks at 3.7 before the atty started tasting burnt and died. It leaked on 3.7 also. I'm hoping to set the GG up w/AFS and use those I-6 atties on it. They are advertised as the way to go but the bigger hole for the AFS = a bigger leak. I drip only, keep her wet, don't drip hot and still can't get what I would call good performance and life from those atties. It gets uber frustrating at times when in need of a fix.
I recently bought a mod for 3.7 LR vaping. I won't name names as 5 of the 6 atties blew within 7 days. I was using the GG at the same time so these atties didn't provide anymore than 40% of my vape that week. I've been PMing with another member that has the same problem. The mod works extremely well with the LR atty, I'll try another brand soon. 3.7 and a regular atty will not cut the mustard, not even close. I hope someone will post with the perfect atty for use at 6 and a LR 510 too. I haven't found it that's for sure.

I don't use HV or LR atties..but I can maybe help you with the losing performance after a couple of days issue. I've done all kinds of experiments for cleaning and refreshing attys and I can only tell you what has worked consistently for me..(ie getting 3-4 weeks sometimes more out of an atty.)

I run standard Joye 510 atties from Cignot at 3.7v on my BSB. When I have a brand new atty I first blow it out really well to make sure I get the nasty packing juice out of it. Then I'll drip one or two drops in it and vape but not inhale till it tastes right and is producing good vapor. (usually takes about 10-30 minutes of tweaking with it if it had alot of packing juice). Then I fill my cart with spring and buff puff material and put it on the atty and start vaping. I also pay close attention to the orientation of the cart in relation to the atty bridge. The rectangular edge of the cart should match up with the rectangular cup in the bottom of the atty just below the bridge. Not sure on other models and haven't seen it make a diff on the 901 which I also use on occasion.

At the beginning of each day or anytime the vapor seems to dropping off I remove the cart and look down the atty barrel and hit the switch for 3-4 seconds. If it glows orange on both sides of bridge, then it's not an atty problem and I check my batteries and also the cart may be dry. Check cart and refill as necessary and/or same with batteries.

If the atty does not glow orange on both sides of the bridge, I first take it off and blow it out really well through cart side. Then replace it and try glow test again. Sometimes it takes a few times of doing this to clear it. And sometimes it takes just hitting the switch and holding it for maybe 5-8 secs. (With HV or LR atties I'd keep it to just about 5 secs max..or it might pop the atty). This process is what most refer to as a "dry burn".

If it's still being stubborn I usually run a multimeter test on it and see how far off the ohms are. If the ohms are still really high, I'll usually put on my 5v passthrough and continue the dry burn carefully a few more times. This usually revives it finally or kills it. The only kills I've had are from my older atties that have mostly already run their course of several weeks so I don't consider them a loss..but just putting down a good atty in a quick and painless way..:)

This works 99.9% of the time for me. Better than anything else I've tried including boiling, steaming, soaking in PGA and/or coke..and all the other common tricks. The main trick to the dry burn is to do it in shorter bursts rather than trying to burn it all off the first round.

Hope this might help you to revive or extend the life of at least some of your atties.
