I believe I have started down a long dark slippery slope.
6v REO enjoyment is killing off my 7 months of 3.7v vaping love.

It took a couple of days to take hold ... Today will be day 4 :)

A pair of LiFePo4 batts and an Ikenvape 3.5Ω atty is really doing it for me.

I wasn't all that keen on it the first day. The atty took a while to break in and I had to learn even though the vape was intense I could still take my huge lung filling drags. Once I got that down its been great.

So great that when I went grocery shopping and took my trusty mini with a 2Ω carto it was like sucking air. What, I loved that set-up! I was convinced I left with a dead 14500 batt. First thing I did when I got home was grab a fresh batt, throw it in the Mini only to find the same vape.

Funny how it only takes a few days to get used to something.
I don't want to be a full time 6v vaper.
I wan't to enjoy my 3.7v as much as I did 4 days ago.

Right now I have both woodvils going at 6v and my Grand and Mini are at 3.7
My woodvils are feeling loved and special while my aluminum friends are cold and lonely.
The Grand might get the double batt love today too, but the poor poor mini ??

My observations so far: (some which surprised me)

6v with the 3.5Ω atty is not hot. Its just thick and satisfying ... and taste is still great.
I can take the longest drag possible and still not burn the atty or juice :) Yay!
(Can't do that with a Cisco 1.5 at 4v)
AW 3v (3.2) batts fit the Grand fine ... but not either of my woodvils.
My Tenergy batts are a touch shorter than the AW and fit both woodvils fine.
(My tenergy have a green stripe on them) Not sure if the blue stripe are different?

Lets talk wattage :)

3.7v running at 4v with a Cisco 1.5 atty is 10.6 watts
3.2v X 2 running at 6.1v with an IKV 3.5Ω atty is 10.7 watts

So your thinking... hey Tim, why should I go through the trouble of buying new stuff to get the same wattage ???

Well watts are watts .... much like speed is speed
You can sit in two different cars going 120mph in a straight line and the thrill level is the same.

But lets look at the engine in those cars :)

The 4v/1.5 ohm engine can get you to that 120 mph thrill. But does it get you there fast enough?
Will it last if you abuse it and hold it wide open ?? Do you feel safe ?? My experience says no.

Now the 6v/3.5 ohm motor can rocket you to the buck twenty with plenty of motor to spare.
I've been abusing mine and its by no means delicate ... on the contrary it feels like a tank of a set-up.
I don't think I could burn this IKV 3.5 atty .... and I have burnt more Cisco 1.5 than I care to count.

So here I type both happy and sad while hittin a 6v Woodvil :)

EDIT: Credit goes to mwa102464 for continuing to recommend this set-up :)
Thanks buddy.... can I send the bills to you ?

Ok I lied, two more things.....

I really miss my cartomizers being satisfying so I have some 3Ω boge on the way.

I really want them to work well for me (I miss my cartos all ready)

I have either the 6v if they can handle it or the new bigger 5v batt stack so I think it will work out.
(I used the 2Ω for a bit on the 5v batt)

I might have to make the Grand my out and about with a carto PV :)

Oh the sad sad mini :(

Try one of your dual coil cartos at 5V and 6V just to see if you like it.

I've read they can take the higher voltages and not burn the juice.

I can only try mine at 5V because my 3V li-ions stacked x2 won't fire the carto due to the protective diodes.

Good idea .... be right back :)

Been think about this wattage thing. I've seen it written on this forum many times that watts = watts no matter what device.

That may be true for different PVs but I don't think its true for atomizers.

I'm no expert but my thinking is this.
To get the same wattage on lower voltage you have to reduce the resistance Ω on the atty.
To do this manufacturers use thinner wire or less coils, or both.
That gets the resistance down, but equals less surface area to heat up and create vapor.

I think thats why 10 watts on a 3.5Ω produces more vapor than 10 watts on a 1.5Ω atty.
It does keep the taste consistent and even the temp I think .... but holy clouds of vapor :)

Thanks for the theory, it makes sense. I always wondered why people would go through the trouble of a HR atty on a 6V device.

I love 6v vaping. I've been vaping at 6v since I quit smoking (little over 7 months ago) and I've found 3.2Ω ohm carto's work well and last a good while. I like to take big drags and tend to chain vape. Right now I'm using 3.5Ω CE2's and I'm loving them. The 3.2Ω carto's I was getting were from liquidxpress.com ($8/pk). They're basically Boge carto's with a looser packing of filler. They work great for me.

I can safely report Tim, that you are in no danger of me buying IKV out of HV attys... Burns my juice even after a 15 minute soaking in juice, yuuk...:( Oh well, I tried.

What batts where you using ??

My juice tastes exactly the same .... well actually not really with the 306, I was not impressed with that at all.

Was using tenergy 750mah 3.2v. Not going to worry about trying other batts or atty's since I'm pleased with 3.7 and 1.8/2.0 306 atty combo. I put the 3 I bought and a bonus, up for trade in the REO swap thread...:)

Cool, I saw that. I don't know if I will stick with if forever, but I'm having trouble putting it down the last few days :)

Going to wait and see how long these two attys last before I order more.
And I am hoping to find a good carto for the 6v too.

Can't find any that seem to last me more than a couple of days (cartos) to me, thats not cost effective when atty's last me months...

I've been running the 3.5ohm 510 Ikens on my Reo now for a good two months, Atty are lasting and lasting as long as they are kept wet. This is the best vape in my personal opinion , why simulate HV with LR when you can have the real deal, 6v with these Iken Atty's is the ultimate vape and the Grand is the perfect PV for this set up ! period end of story :2cool:

Ya I don't think cartos are cost effective. Some people think they are cheaper ....
Either they are using the same carto a lot longer than I am ..... or there attys only last a couple of weeks :)

But I enjoy them and I'm not looking for cost effective I guess.
Heck I spent 10 bucks a day ... every day on smokes ..... that was not cost effective either.
So even if I blow a buck fifty carto every day I'm still coming out ahead.

Who says your not simulating 3.7 LR with 6 volt :)

Just bustin on ya mwa .... I'm enjoying the hell out of this set-up ..... really I can put it down.
Been on the same atty for almost 4 full days without cleaning it. Thats unheard of for me.
The 3.5Ω seems like a tank of an atty. I get the feeling its no where near as fickle as a 1.5Ω

Thanks again.

Very true. I like a carto for the first 50 puffs or so, but soon after the sweet juices I vape start tasting "cooked" imo.
