Forgive me for this but I'm going to mention that having a cigarette when trying to quit is a slippery slope. There are actually quite a few people I've read about (including myself), who even after becoming an exclusive vaper, still like cigarettes and smoking. I primarily smoked menthols, in fact I had one the other day and loved it. Luckily, I had the willpower to stop and remember that my goal was to quit originally, not reduce my consumption.

So, take caution when moving from vaping to just a single cigarette because it rarely benefits you in the end.

congrats for going strong for 1 more day on your journey!!! its not easy. I been vamping for 4 weeks now and the first week i had wrong equipment and not enough juice. Each time I had an analog it tasted nasty and after 3 days I order the right equipment and lots of juice. I started just vaping 3 weeks and I still have that craving and every time is going further away but still there and the first week I had about 40ml of juice and mixing it with analogs so yes we have cravings but as time goes on gets easier and remember it taste nasty!!!
Congrats for going with out an analog for 1 day you are getting closer to win the war and kicking this nasty habit in the ....!!!

I don't for a minute think that tobacco is only about nicotine. But nicotine is the only part I personally desire, so refer to the other parts as crap. Maybe not the best choice of word, but the one I feel fits the bill best, for something I don't want. This is the whole reason I started vaping, to get the nicotine minus most of the negative effects of cigarettes.

Thanks for the advice everyone and happy vaping!

At the least, should give your goal perspective.

Just wanted to share that I had my first real craving last night since quitting the stinkies. Horrible, horrible, horrible!

Blood boiling, rage and restlessness, all I could think about was the analogs. I NEEDED one, not just wanted one! I really dont know how I got through it to be honest. Vaped like a champ, stupid amounts of juice, changing from dripping atty to carto to tank to clearo as I was sure that there was something that would get me through it. Nothing did. Switched off the PC and just lay on the sofa, vamo in hand.

Eventually (hour/hour and a half) it passed, but got me thinking, there was no way that it was a nicotine craving, must have vaped about 2ml of juice during the craving. So that just leaves the other crap in the analogs. Anyone else still get the cravings, even when satisfying the nicotine cravings? How do you deal with it when it does strike?

Just needed to share with people who understand

True. And this is where the flexibility of quitting with e-cigs comes into play. If you are lucky - like me - smoking a .... is actually a good thing and only makes you that much more determined to avoid them. Today, I still get nauseous walking behind someone smoking a cigarette - outdoors even. I didn't want that, I didn't go looking for it - it was just part of what happened when I took up vaping and transitioned to quitting smoking. A lot of people have the same experience. So I vaped and continued to smoke when I started and it actually worked. I still have a pile of ash trays in my place - sitting there, with a layer of dust on top. When I mentioned that on ECF someone chimed in "Throw them away!!! Having them around will only make you smoke!!!" Ummmm, yeah - that is so not going to happen. I am truly repulsed by the idea of smoking a cigarette.

At the same time, there are people - like you - who have nothing but an ongoing battle and still find something about smoking they like. I honestly don't get that, based on how my transition went, but if you are one of those people who yearn for a cigarette and still enjoy something about the experience, then if you want to stay quit you need to avoid them period.

In the game of quitting I am so glad I got dealt the "disgusting" card.

Either approach can produce a winner. You just have to figure out what kind of winner you need to be. That's the beauty of e-cigs - the flexibility. There is no flexibility with gum or patches. The majority of people using those methods have the same miserable experience.
