I let myself smoke a couple after about 2 months...and boy were they good! I kind of felt like a teenager out in the woods, smoking a cigarette I stole from my dad. (That would have been over 45 years ago). Anyway, I know now that I have to stay away from them.

This week I'm doing a service call at a business and one of the guys working there stepped out for a smoke, so I joined him and stepped out for a vape. For a moment I felt like the guy on a diet eating rice cakes while he was eating a burger. But, as if it was scripted, he starting coughing and hocked up a big loogie. I said to my self "you know what, I'll stay with my rice cake.....one with the flavor of a nice mocha cappucino today" ha ha ha.

i went back and forth several times, and at this point for me its totally about choice. im not going to stop myself if a stinky is what i want. therefore, which do i prefer? i prefer the vape, honestly. so i say avoid the anxiety, if you want a stinky, go have one. you may very well find its not what you wanted afterall.

Me too, still craving, but not as frequently as at the start. I've been off analogs for 10 days and hitting my Twist almost constantly on weekends w/24 mg juice, but the craves still come. Guessing it's going to be a long time before I can relax. Funny though, it's easier at work because they don't know I smoked and I only went outside 2x/day before. But at home, watching vaping youtube vids, reading way too many posts (and ridiculously confusing myself) and trying to make sense of it all - well, it just makes me vape more, sigh. But at least I'm not smoking!

Congrats on what you have done so far in such short a time.
If I was there I'd shake your hand, give you a hug and an pat on the back for what your able to accomplish at this point. Some of us aren't that lucky. We struggle every day. Look at my join date, and my post. I've been trying for a long time. The point is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never count the ones you smoke, Count the ones you didn't. I was a 3 pad smoker and have dropped that down to half a pad. I think that's pretty good for me.
If anyone is interested here's a blog about a crutch. Just keep trying. That's all we can do. :toast:

Yup! keep going. but if you do slip, and many of us have, don't beat yourself up over it. Quitting is hard. I've lost count how many times I tried. So far an e-cig is keeping me from running to the store and buying the nasty cigars I used to smoke most of the day.

Slip and fall, get back up, dust yourself off and proceed on. It's all progress. I've made it 7 weeks today. It gets easier as you go.

They say the first hurdle is 3 weeks. I made it beyond that. They say the next hurdle is 3 months. Come at me bro! :D

I honestly crave the moment I get up and have to get ready for work..... the worst is after I eat a meal.

Mornings were the worst for me at first. If not for the mornings, I probably would have quit a few days earlier than I did.

I really like your avatar, is that a self-portrait? The lighting is very nice!

First - congrats to you! Keep it up.

The cravings do get less & less, but for me they haven't gone away fully. I'm starting week 8 vaping & week 7 of no analogs. However, I still want to smoke at certain times. Mornings were the hardest, but not so bad anymore. This past week I got very aggravated with work and found myself reaching into my pocket for a smoke. But, of course, I didn't have any and pulled out the PV instead. A few minutes walking around vaping cured that urge. I love this product.

Congrats on 7 weeks! That's awesome! I reached into my pocket for a smoke at work Friday and chuckled to myself - I had my eGo in my other hand and no desire for a cigarette - it was pure habit.

I'm right there with you when it comes to loving this product. It is absolutely amazing how easy it has made quitting analogs, I think the fact that I've repeated that statement about a million times really speaks to it's validity.

Don't be hard on yourself. Quitting is very hard, even with a vaping alternative. You have already shown a genuine desire to quit. Be proud about that. You can do this. Someone earlier in this thread recommended a stronger mix to smoke when you get a craving. That is a very good idea. Be proud of the little victories every time you pass up the opportunity to smoke an analog. There are a lot of really great people here that can give you some support if you need it. Congratulations on the 4 days that you have. Don't be discouraged, use the resources that you have and you can do it. This site is living proof! Good Luck. :toast:

Thanks tcgenius! The members of this forum really are an amazing group of people!

Thank you! Once again, you guys are simply awesome! I really like your outlook (your signature line is awesome!) and you should definitely be proud of the 50 (FIFTY!) cigarettes you aren't smoking a day!!! That is amazing! My dad drives a truck and smokes like a freight train - I think I piqued his interest in this whole vapor thing - I'm hoping it will help him cut back quite a bit. I'd really like for him to see my kids grow old.

Grats to everyone on the thread here! I'm kind of an oddball in this one. I quit for 4 months 2 years ago until some financial issues hit us hard. That first pack I bought actually made me physically sick and wish I would of taken the que then. But I just got my .... back in order, got my mod last friday, juice will be in later today for me and I'm going to try my best not to look back!

Currently at one full day smoke free myself. Got steered toward e cigs from a friend and his wife that are trying to quit.

Tried a couple of blu disposables and they really didn't do much for me(very little flavor and no kick in the lungs). so i started doing some reading and decided on Halo.

Got my starter g6 kit, sampler, and carts on Saturday morning. After a couple pulls off a torque 56 pre fill i was in love. Kinda strange being i was a menthol smoker. I didn't have a craving for a smoke the whole day but smoked the last 5 i had in my pack anyways just so i didn't have them sitting around.

Have been having some light cravings today but i have found changing flavors helps. Sub zero completely took care of my after meals cravings.

Guess the real test will be tomorrow at work if i can make it through that i think ill be ok.

I was surprised to read how many people still had cravings for tobacco cigarettes after trying ecigs, but well done to all of you that have persevered :)

When I first started vaping I bought an eGo-t starter kit, and have not had or craved for tobacco ever since, I was looking at those mini-ecigs at first, but a friend of mine who is a seasoned vaper told me to avoid those and go for something better, that is probably why it was easy for me to give up the tobacco, had I gone for one of those mini-ecigs I may have had the same craving as others on here have had.

My next upgrade will hopefully be to a Sigelei Zmax.

It really depends on a lot of factors like:

How long you have smoked
How many packs a day
If you are around smokers
What your day consists of
If it is a stressful time period
What mg liquid you have
What type of ecig/pv you have
If you smoked inside or not

Glad you put down the analogs without any cravings after.

CMCCL, Sorry to go off post but i wasn't able to find a way to send you a message via the forum. i am Mario from last week in the AVE juice fiasco. you suggested i try Dark Honey from Aroma Juice. its not bad at all i could get used to it. its hard to try new flavors when you are still hooked on 1 particular flavor. well i thank you for the suggestion. i think i will try mixing it with my caramel mocha flave that i have as a secondary.
