What on earth are you blaming me for? I said all of two sentences, you replied and I did not mount any defense or take any bait for debate.

So blaming me is utterly ridiculous. My two sentences aren't capable of getting this thread sent to the outside.

Report me? Go ahead.. I didn't do anything wrong!

Grow up..

It's the back and forth debating that sinks a thread, not having a small say concerning the politics side of vaping, and I never debated anyone.

Your the one to control your own actions, not me. Had you followed my suit, and given your opinion of the information contained in the OP, instead of trying to debate everyone else's opinions, perhaps none of the debating would have happened.

Ever consider that?

Obviously not because your busy blaming me!
Lol. Remember how I talked about people complaining about me saying that stuff was partisan? I submit this post as example A.

Had to go back and copy/paste the quote:
“Anything around DC is so far left anymore it's little wonder.

They aren't willing to let their sin taxes go now that we aren't smoking.

I mean, who else is going to pay for "free everything"..”

It’s really pretty partisan. “So far left..” “free everything”. It’s not really about vaping, though it’s more about vaping than some other comments here. The middle sentence which is the only one actually about vaping is the only content carrying part of the post . The other 2/3rds of it is basically about “those dirty leftists in Washington who sit on their .... and make us hard working Americans pay for stuff”
I mean that is the subtext of the message really. It was just a little bit oblique is all. Not very oblique, but a token attempt was at least made.

I take it you were surprised when someone was annoyed by it. This does not surprise me. It’s a standard left wing thing as well. I live in a city so as a consequence it is primarily leftist. Or at least less rightist. The definition of centrist has been shifting for years.
I had a guy very “charitably” compare my vaping to me being a methadone patient. He didn’t expect any pushback either. He was quite shocked. He was politically correct for his area just as you probably are for yours. Political correctness is everywhere now. It’s just different depending on where you are or who you are.

I watched “Captain Marvel” with my sisters on Sunday. There’s a scene where a bunch of little girls (well one girl at various different young ages) get pushed down, but stand back up again and persevere. “I referred to it as “girl power” on the grounds that they were after all little girls, and my sister near chewed my ear off. She found the term demeaning. Was she wrong? No. She felt demeaned. It doesn’t matter whether she “should” or “should not” feel demeaned, she did. Therefore she had a point. I did not intend to demean her. That’s how it works where I live. To be fair she has been a bit testy lately. She got glass ceilinged at work and it ...... her off. A lot. She’s taken to playing what she calls “skyway chicken” where she doesn’t get out of the way of anyone she views as being too “bro” which generally means young men in muscle shirts and baseball caps with the brims curved to nearly a point. She walks right where she wants to walk and makes them move. The remaining family is sort of hoping she’ll find a different job that makes her less unhappy.

Have I considered to just allow snide partisan garbage to just slide by me without replying? Yes it’s certainly what the snide partisans would prefer. And it works on young people. My sister sends the young boys shocked and scurrying. The sideway partisan stuff pisses me off though. A lot. I’m old. I grew up in an earlier era. I can be just as snide and partisan as anyone else. For the last few weeks I guess I’ve been playing skyway chicken too. This site is supposed to be about vaping. That’s the politically correct here. Not right wing, not left wing, vape wing. Except there’s also this low level thing of “how partisan can I be without getting tagged”. I’m tired of it. Maybe lately I’ve ...... off a whoever is reading this off a bit too. I can play it either way. Polite or impolite. I tried polite. I got complaints. So this is the other way. This is me refusing to be bullied. Maybe you can do it to the youngins but I’m old and I just don’t give a :censored:.

One day my sister is going to play skyway chicken and bounce off someone’s chest. I kinda fear for that person. The woman is a bank Vice President. She’s likely got a plan. Me I’m not a planner like she is. That woman is flatly terrifying. I do live where I live, and I might also get a bit to comfortable with my particular slant without noticing. I can take direction. I can back down. I’m sure as :censored: not going to be the only one doing it though. All I really want is a nice polite conversation about vaping. How ‘bout we try it that way? Or we can bump chests. I’m good with that too.

The more things change the more they remain the same. One of those jokes that can go both ways. All that needs to change is the wording. Most of those jokes are older than the languages they are spoken in. Good chance that car was once a carriage.

I was desperately trying to remember who recounted this tale in the 1980's. I realise now it was PJ O'Rourke [P. J. O'Rourke - Wikipedia], probably from Republican Party Reptile.

I'm not going to debate you no matter how much you would like me to.

Why? Because debating politics is against forum rules.

I made a comment and gave my opinion concerning a new 67% excise tax on vaping products in DC.

I live in Virginia.. btw. I made a post on the politics here that led to a 67% excise tax in DC, in my personal opinion.

If you feel I crossed the line report me, but I won't debate you and break forum rules.

I stand by all I've said in this thread.. every word.

That wasn’t a request for debate, that was a rant.

but slipping one in while pretending to talk about something else is fine I guess.

No. you didn’t.

You made a swipe at what you (incorrectly btw) feel is a hotbed of left wing slovenliness and added a bit about vaping in the middle. From what you felt was a position of unassailable safety. What it looks like from here is You’re just surprised it bit you.

Casual partisanship is fine though apparently.

News: you already broke forum rules. You apparently just weren’t expecting to be called on it.

I tried that already. I got all these complaints that I was a “whiner” so I stopped whining and started doing. Apparently that doesn’t make people happy either. The preferred solution apparently is for me to grab my ankles and grin. Not going to do it. There are very few vapers in my town. Vaping is becoming a right wing thing. It shouldn’t be. People are dying everywhere.

The guy who owns my local vape shop is a rabid right winger, and from what I can tell from conversation with him and watching his body language and the almost total lack of facial affect very possibly a full on sociopath. That’s OK imho. People gravitate to places where their problems become strengths. OCD people tend to become engineers where it is an advantage rather than a problem. Sociopaths tend to become businessmen for the exact same reason. He turned his deficit in a productive direction. He even made himself rich. He also owns a string of sex toy shops in a few states. I’m fine with that. The cops appear to watch him extra close. I’m fine with that too. He’s possibly a sociopath and likely needs the assistance. He doesn’t think so of course. He complains about it constantly.

Correct. they weren’t hidden.

Your now on ignore. Leave me alone and respond to the OP If you have an opinion on it..

Stop deciding you know what I meant by what I said (because you obviously dont know) or what I was thinking when I said it (because you don't know that either, quite obviously)

Just keep my name out of your mouth because I've now put you on ignore. Your not adult enough, apparently, to reply and allow others to reply to this topic, so I want nothing to do with you...

I spent the the first 20 years of my adult working life as an engineer. Then I started a business that has made me rich. I must be your worst nightmare.

Nah. I like engineers. They tend to be smart and accurate. My uncle was an engineer. Helped design the Alaska pipeline. Great cook too. I even kinda like the guy who runs the local vape store. He might possibly be a bit dangerous ina given situation, but he’s not hurting anyone. The definition of a mental disorder is “does it mess up your life”. If it doesn’t mess up your life it’s not a disorder. That’s why psychologists don’t call people healthy, they call them “well adjusted”. It takes all kinds of people to make the world work.

Va just raised the age to acquire tobacco products to 21, including vape gear. Idea being keep 18 year old high school kids from black marketing Juuls from the youngsters. ...

That kind of Thinking is similar to turning on your Heater while driving in a Snow Storm with the Windows down.

And about as Effective.

The loudest voices against it were.... wait for it....
vapers.....

My grandson enlisted in the Marines a couple of years ago. He vaped before that, but they weren't allowed any nic at all during initial training. Then during the combat training period he took up chewing tobacco because it was so widespread. Cigs were restricted to a small designated area but you could chew more freely as long as you carried a plastic water bottle in your pocket to spit in. I guess smoke attracts the enemy or something.

Thing is my lad was 24 but most of the recruits there were under 21. All the crap they go through and they can't smoke or vape or drink a beer when they go home. I could be charged with a crime if I gave him a beer with his dinner. There's something wrong with the world we live in. And I'm not saying which Party I blame. I'll give you a clue though, they all wear black hats.
