i don't quite understand the high Resistance Atomizer thing...isn't the point of higher voltage more vapor and throat hit...Raising the Resistance of the atomizer complete negates that AND atty's are dispossible...after it dies your going to have to buy another most likely high dollar "Custom" Atomizer

510 atty(2.5ohms)
3.7v = 5.38watts

"Custom" Atty(6ohms)
6v = 6watts

Same performance...But one atty you can buy at Any store anywhere and use with EVERY mod and stock battery....the other will be from SELECT suppliers and ONLY work with 6v battery mod's

I am not seeing the reason to design an atty specifically for 6 volts or any other voltage. Doots, you like 6 volt vaping on a 3.7 volt rated battery. That's understandable. But, it's not the voltage that makes it so. It's the temperature that the 3.7 volt coil gets to when 6 volts is applied.

If a 6 volt (designed/engineered) atty hits the market coupled with a 6 volt source, it stands to reason that it would be akin to the original 3.7 atty/batty set up. IOW, to heat that atty up to where you like it, it might take 9 volts. And so on and so on and so on, until we get to the point where we use 110 volt AC? <g>

We need an atty that burns hotter (and somehow lasts longer) designed around the readily available 3.7 volt source, I think.

I think Lower resistance Atomizers is the Key...If i can get the same performance from my Stock battery at 3.7 as a mod at 5v's...

stock 801 atty(3.5ohms)
5v = 7.14watts
Stock 901 atty(3ohms)
5v = 8.33watts
Stock 510 atty(2.5ohms)
5v = 10watts

Custom atty (1.50ohm)
3.7v = 9.13watts
Custom Atty (1.25ohm)
3.7v = 10.95watts

I'm with ya on this one, Nick.

But, I'm thinking this may have been addressed by the Chinese engineers at some point who couldn't come up with the coil material that could take the heat and still take a beating for a while. Or, it was just too expensive for some nichrome alloy or whatever for THEIR purposes (of selling and re-selling attys, ad nauseum).

I think that is the point that nerf is trying.
To make it last longer.
3.7 and 6v vape are different in temp.
I think thats why ppl that use 6v like it more.
Im not an expert but we will see when the attys come in as to how well they perform and what modifications need to have done to them..

I think I must be the minority who is perfectly happy and satisfied with a 3.7 atty and a 3.6 battery. (shrugs)
IMO it's all dependent on the quality and flavor of the juice.

For the most part I am too, Houdini. I *do* on occasion reach for that PT of mine that operates at 5-ish volts output that we spoke about before though.

I'm curious, Sir. What brand of cigarettes did (or do?) you smoke? I wonder if there is a relation to what we were used to and what we do now. But, I have to admit, better than 6 months into vaping now, I'm not sure what that was even like at this point -- 'cept that I liked it. =)

I smoked Marlboro Lights a pack a day for 30 years. Havn't had one in over 10 months.
I've been vaping on a M401 Dragon almost 100% for the last 3 months. I won one in a contest from Truesmoker and I've been hooked on it since then. I have a VAPRE 51 that I use from time to time with an 801 atty and a Cisco laser with a 901 atty that I use too.

I just got my attys from Nerf and they seem to work very well at 7.2v input. Vapes like 5v which to me is the sweet spot. How long they last is anyones guess at this point. Im happy with how they vape.. Thanks Nerf! And also for the great adapter also! :)

What Resistance(Ohms) is the atty you got from Nerf? How long have you had it? Have you compared battery life with "Custom" Atomizer vs Regular atomizer?

Pretty much the same here. Pack, sometimes a little more, same brand, 35 years. So that sort of explains the two of us being on the same page... but there are many others out there that have to have high voltage that sucked down lighter analogs than Marlboro Lights.
